You get so so if you watching only the TV channel (not Astro B.yond HD channel) or normal DVD playback. (Unless your DVD is capable of upscalling). Want to see the true of LCD TV, BD or HD TV channel is required.

Btw,does upscaling of the DVD really improves the quality a lot?

Please stop spreading this price as the other member does too cause the seller calculate RM1650 after deducting rebate and his free gift main problem is he have got one unit only and it's currently reserved so no point at all.
Replied your PM already thanks a lot for your help!
RM1899 is after rebate or before? Do you have more info or contact for Desa HT Kepong please? Desa HT is the name of the shop? I really needed this offer as I don't need the BD player thanks for your help!

Added on December 26, 2010, 12:28 amFound some hint in this thread regarding Desa HT Kepong for those who are interested

The RM1,899 price is before the rebate. The RM200 rebate you have to do it online. You look for Ah Yee. He is a very nice person. You can also ask for some free gifts too.. smile.gif

It do help a lot, at least it make your DVD near HD quality..... if the person never seen BD before, he/she may th the TV is playing the BD.

But the upscaling is suffer from edge issue and color slightly banding.

I do comparing before with my BD & DVD version of Toy Story Ultimate Collection.

Upscaling is the player (either BD player or DVD player that support) and need to use HDMI connection.

Once you see the BD, or HD source data, then you know how bad the DVD are.... (if no upscaling...... DVD look crap on LCD)

For HDMI cable, no need those branded.... it just waste your money and do nothing,.

Just get a decent v1.3 or v1.4 those cheap cheap HDMI cable can already.
