how big is the improvement on the fuel consumption eh?
can elaborate more?

OK, lets put FC improvement a sides as I never care to take notes on that but in terms of responsiveness, the car is less hesitated to rev up, engine noise is lesser, air cond is colder ( i knew this one is too much, but we felt it ). The overall experiences before and after drops in is like driving a different car ( drove that car for 3 years before drops in ).

After drops in the Air Filter, drove for a day and the next day, Changed ATF, Mobile 1 Full Syn engine oil and also changed from Shell 97 to BHP 97. Overall felt like driving a new car and previous city drive with not much jam has Full tank clocking around 500km to after all change, Full tank clocking around 600km. ( be reminded the improvement was after K&N + Engine Oil + ATF + Petrol changes for the saving as I only drove the changes with K&N for just 1 day )

I gave away my Isawra's K&N to my friend before I sold my car, 3 days later, he smsed me

No worry it wont! The filter just replace with the original one without doing any extra mod.
Everytime when need service just change back to the original filter and send workshop.
No way they will know or such thing like "void warranty" thsi is really funny.
*
What if the car break down on the roadside, the tow trucks tow it back to Authorize SC.. then SC insisted it is caused by the Filter ( even any one should know that is not the case ).... this is bolehland, especially.. we are the loosing party by default.

i wanted persona 3mths totally ckd

KFC,

I think the main problem arise from the Part that when the Buyers getting the cars in the scenarios you mentioned. They have been informed that the waiting time is such and such and hence the buyers understand the contract and when the car can / maybe available based on the waiting time let it be 1, 2, 6 months and so on. The buyers will then patiently waiting for that car that he/she knew the waiting time, while driving their old car.

Where in current Forte situations, the buyers have been promised a date / day that may be already 2 months ago, e.g. those that booked during November, which including myself and promised the car in 2 weeks time after launching. So, some excited buyers will then trusted the information that they will get their car in couple of weeks time let say if it is not 2 weeks but probably 3 to 4 weeks time can be still reasonable since is a new launch. Some will even sell the car to get the downpayment ready so that they can speed up the car registration once they are available but then after that, they are carless for few months and still holding on the the tiny hopes on the various updates, rumors from all kinds of sources.

So, waiting with a know end point and waiting endlessly, there are a big different in terms of the stress some people has to go through.

Hey guys, for "Powerful", you should look at the Torque and also the RPM with max torque. 2 very good examples for good torque ( Torque helps you to gain speed, move your cars ) are the 308 Turbo and the Sylphy. Their low end torque is pretty good and does not need you to rev up to madness RPM to gain the momentum.

If you comparing only HP, that will only helps if you want to achieve maximum speed...

Mazda 3 is 140bhp and it's more powerful. Different torque I think. Wat I meant was after test driven 1.6 forte I m sure 2.0 won't be as bad as avante.
*
I do suggest you to just go and test drive the 308 Turbo .. even just for fun, to feel the Uuuuuumph brows.gif

Forte 1.6SX 156Nm @ 4200 rpm
Forte 2.0SX 194.2Nm @ 4300 rpm
308 Turbo 240Nm @ 1400 rpm ~ 4250 rpm
407 200Nm @ 4,000 rpm
Vios 141Nm @ 4200 rpm
Civic 1.8 174Nm @ 4300 rpm
Civic 2.0 188Nm @ 4500 rpm
City i-Vtec 145Nm @ 4800 rpm
Altis 1.6 145Nm @ 4400 rpm
Altis 1.8 170Nm @ 4200 rpm
Mazda 3 2.0 182Nm @ 4500 rpm
Avante X20 186Nm @ 4600 rpm
Sylphy 191Nm @ 4400 rpm

As you can see from above, Forte 2.0SX actually has very very good Torque to moves a car.... especially the Weight of the car is not too heavy. Imagine, the 407 is having 200Nm but the weight of the chassis is so much heavier.

I've tested the 308THP b4, yes it's amazing, 240Nm @ 1400, pickup is powerful like crazy.

But as i've mentioned b4, it's for youngsters and not suitable as family car. Few years down the road wifey need to sit at back when pregnant. 308's backseat is not really that comfy hehe.

Anyway looking for family car now and Forte just fit in nicely at it's price point.

And i m a crazy driver, the more powerful the car is the more crazier i get. Used to drive a 20 yr old Toyota starlet and always floor the accelerator. Crazy shit, now old liao canot take it anymore hehe. Very dangerous. tongue.gif

Looking at the statistic above I m sure i m gonna love this 2.0 Forte.

I fell in love with Mazda 3 when i first test drove it. It was very responsive and torque is good. To think on paper Forte is 'better' than Mazda 3, really can't wait to drive it hehehe biggrin.gif

Avante's troque seems high oso but i can't remember how 'powerful' it is. I can only remember how noisy the engine was, same as altis 1.8, what a letdown, when gear kicking back, the sound of engive rev / drag was same as my 1.5 wira aeroback.

After reading the list again, i've test driven all the cars except for vios and forte 2.0 and adding mazda 3 1.6 to the list biggrin.gif

ToyToy,

I have already wanted to reply the first time you mentioned this. Since you repeated it, The 407 seems likes what suitable for you sweat.gif besides the Forte.

KIA MALAYSIA The early bird price being offered now is extremely low compared to other makes. The realistic price for 1.6SX would be somewhere around RM107k.

You may see minor price increases due to increases from the principal, added on options and other factors.

Kia has gone from being a 'cheap brand' to becoming a global player, even supplying engine technology (the Theta 2.0L) to Mitsubishi! ... See more

Our bodies are mostly high tensile steel, 4 or 5 star NCAP rated, with very high fit and finish quality. Even the hidden areas now have gloss finish paint, which was not there before.

Previously customers complained that Kia vehicles came in expensive and then got discounted down. Now the products come in low and progressively increase in tandem with improvements in SSI and CSI, as do many other products.

Looks like a big hinting for the price hike.. and surprisingly inline with what our Mr Rich is stating in his encrypted messages. I wonder what is the added on options... 5 speeds Manual will be great thumbup.gif

Well, if City 1.5L is priced at 90k... 1.6L with so much goodies, realistically will be selling that price if it is a T, H & N.. right ? Think on the bright side, Kia's car resell value finally going up up up sweat.gif

Anyone want to try? Perhaps one representor and we drop in our name...If still no news today, cny drive forte dream is gone. FYI, all the big trucks movement will stopped next wednesday. Meaning no more forte ship to u if still at stockyard :-)

Hmm.. Maybe I shall write to them telling how they loose my business. By CC to cmd@naza.com.my.. this going to make NAZA shakes their legs.

QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Feb 4 2010, 01:33 PM)
Just a head's up from a 2.0 Forte driver biggrin.gif Torque numbers are just for show... it's not very frequent that you rev beyond 4K rpm to attain the max Nm.

The numbers may seem good on paper, but the 4 speed auto is the main factor that's limiting the performance of the ThetaII. In automatic mode, the 2.0 Forte does not seem to be able to smoke anyone on the roads; in fact the 1.8 Civic "feels" faster. The gearbox upshifts too early from 2nd to 3rd gear the moment the tacho hits 2k rpm, resulting in a torque dip at low speed (approx 50kmh).

There's two ways to solve this - (1) push the lever to shift-tronic mode and control your gears manually (2) ECU tweak as mentioned in some foreign forums.

The 3 feels more nimble and zippy on the roads, but the main downside to the Mazda is the interior cabin space. The rear is horrendously narrow and feels claustrophobic when seating 3 adults. Material quality is also a letdown (although the Forte too also has some poor plastics).

Forget about the Avante/Elantra. Old and unrefined. If you're looking for a Hyundai you're better off with the i30, although its pricing in Malaysia is somewhat unattractive.
*
StarGhazzer,

You are right, the Max numbers do not really meant much unless we are controlling the shifting. A more refine graphs to look at where the normal usage RPM range together with the gear shifting program, car's overall weight and other factors do contribute to the end result. I remember I don't quite like the curve shape of the Forte as the Max is at a tip like mount Everest. So far, the Torque curve that I am in loves with is the 308 Turbo and secondly the Sylphy when it couples with the CVVT box.

Yes, go for the i series if you're looking for Hyundai. i10,i20,i30 or even i40(coming soon).
Too bad i30 doesn't have sedan version. wonder why.

KM FB actually has double standard. He kept emphasize "The mission of this page is to disseminate product and corporate information."

They are one way saying the page is not for complains.. and on the other ways, they are very happy that people praise them but deleting those giving constructive comment.. In my opinion, if they do not welcome Negative stuffs, they should also not welcome positive stuffs and keep it clean on just "Disseminate Product and Corporate Information"

JoLee, Bapak, 4te, titarium, izputra, titarium,

Thanks for the credits, it is true that FORTE is my first choice / first love and it is even the car that I directly placed booking without first discuss with my wife or getting approval from my wife. Research for quite some time, visit the showroom on launch day and book ... then only told my wife, I booked a car. My wife was surprise that I have such a moves as I normally will think very hard, discuss with her even just buying a RM50 stuffs.

As some pointed out, Forte is first love and first love is hard to forget.... and when it is the first love that you never even get to taste / touch / feel / procession of it .. it is going to be something sentimental within for long long time.

I think my email has been treated as spam. No fail delivery report for all the email address sent to but no response or whatsever. Not even a warning email / reply for the CCed cmd mail when I am expecting at least the local party should response to find out more.

I am curious, that I actually still spending more time on this Forum vs Peugeot forums... and all I knew are 2 of the major reasons are

- I have a bunch of friends here ( Peugeot Forum is just too quiet )
- I still love Forte ( I love 407 too )
