QUOTE(cherroy @ Feb 9 2010, 12:21 AM)
Yes, when I first time heard match commentator said, I was surprised as well. Seem like each match play poorly, need to battle hard, win scrappy here and there, lucky goal etc. No good perforamance etc.
But for last 7 matches, Liverpool only conceded once only. Kind of unbelieveable if not looking back the stats.
But mostly against not in-form team generally, not yet against big 3 teams.
*
everton was in good form and they was clueless against rafa's system. it's ugly the way liverpool winning of late but as long as it's 3 points i have no complain. chelsea was ugly when mourinho won the 1st season he won the league.

if liverpool win against the arse and blue mancs.. ugly or not i dont care biggrin.gif

funny how most of the fans here slagging a single player when the rest of the team played like shit also (except the subs). ngog was shite but the team didn't created a chances for him either. where's the slagging on riera and kuyt? how about some little praise when a player scored will ya? ffs..

the romanians clearly doesnt intended to come out from the halfway line and it makes the games very difficult. the forwards running out ideas how to break the defense line so resorted to shoot from outside the box and crosses.

come on, the game was ugly as hell and the team played terrible. but how about cheering for the fact that the team won and needed only one goal to progress.

Kuyt played decent enough if you ask me. Got pass their left back with ease a couple of times, manage to provide some decent crosses, and struck one shot really well that could have resulted in a goal. Riera was poor, for sho. Lots of poor crosses, but can't really blame him. Doubt he's fully fit yet.

We've thanked him enough. (Ngog)
*
yeah, by slagging him off.

So you expect us to walk around with "We love Ngog" shirts, when ALL he did was just a simple 'tap in sorta goal'? Seriously, you're treating him as though we would not even exist if it wasn't for him. We should support him, yeap, but to a certain extent.
*
nobody asked to praise a player.. let alone wearing "We love.. " shirts. but why single him out then? the whole team perform like shite and suddenly he's the only one who's at fault. it's not like he miss a couple of sitters. the way the team played even torres couldn't get a goal. as shown earlier this season. i believe you all were blaming lucas that time.

so why not discuss about the rest of the team and not singling a player out. gerrard seems to be immune for some reason.

QUOTE(sahathai @ Feb 20 2010, 01:52 AM)
just another thought... sometimes it's good to open our mind a little on what other think..

"He can't play that position. I don't know what position he can play but he can't play up front as a centre forward - he just can't do it. I don't think he's even good enough to play for Liverpool. I've said that very early on in his career when I've seen him. You're doing him no favours having him as a lone striker and you're doing the team no favours by playing him." - Ian St John (Liverpool 1961-1971)

“Rafa Benitez works with him every day, so he clearly sees things in him, but at the Emirates Stadium Ngog looked like a schoolboy playing in an adult’s match. he needs to improve. One thing you cannot fault him for his effort; he never stopped running or trying his hardest to help the team and, for that, he should be commended. Unfortunately, though, in contests of great magnitude against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, effort alone is not good enough. You need to have a clear head and be ruthless when opportunity knocks but, when Steven Gerrard sent him skipping through, Ngog was neither and Liverpool suffered accordingly. Put it this way – had Fernando Torres been presented with the same chance, you would have invested your mortgage on him scoring; when Ngog was homing in on goal, he never convinced that he would score."- John Aldridge (Liverpool 1987–1989)
These comment were made after the Arse game which clearly the whole team were shite as always.. not Ngog alone.

Ian St John has been bitter like Lawro for so many years. The comment he made a bit harsh for a backup striker who scored goals even the chances were scarce. only torres, gerrard and kuyt scores more than him.

Meanwhile Aldo criticism is valid. But he said himself Ngog needs to improve and believe the day will come. He also did praise Ngog's effort.. which some of us here been saying Ngog played with no effort.

Lucas
-How did u analize Xabi during his 1st season at anfield? and how good xabi getting to be last season compared to the 1st season he arrive to anfield?
same goes to Lucas.. it's fair comment on Lucas.. tq..

Nemeth
-Nemeth? how do u know Nemeth can be a superstar? u also didnt watch him play in a competitive games, he just shine with reserve team, correct me if im wrong.. so can u guarantee nemeth can be a superstar if rafa absorb him in our 1st team? 50-50 that what i can say..

so dun overjudged players if u dun know the fact n the history...
Xabi was excellent on his 1st and 2nd season.. his 3rd and 4th are mediocre. his last is as good as 1st season.

Nemeth didnt do much impact at greece now but I believe he got the talent to be a big superstar.

bad bad game.. everyone were shite except benny, the defense line notably skrtel. and masch defensively but poor contribution and passing.

benny should just dive after that challenge. gonna get penalty.

ref was stupidly card happy.. 1 card for MC but 6 for Liverpool.. fakin 'ell

I think Rafa should replace Gerrard earlier. He is the worst player for Liverpool. Very lazy and played with no spirit. Sorry if my comment is so harsh. Its just my point of view.
*
his bigger than everyone attitude, sulking and moaning is his trademark lately.. maybe its time to change captain?

hummmmm...im not a Lucas's fan..
but am i the only one thinks that he wasnt himself just now?
he took risks, he chased off balls, he looked up, looking for free front players, tried positive passes, made tackles, show up efforts..
i dont think it was really him coz,

he was totally.....(i cant belive im saying this)....awesome !!!

but yea, bad result
*
if good pass meaning passing it to MC players.. yes he's awesome. tongue.gif

everybody argued about his rotation system since the beginning and more so early last season. then by the end of last season nobody can argue about his system when the liverpool players were fresh and playing good football. this season you could see the top team adapt the same rotation to make players fresh. it's not a matter of leaving a player behind eventhough he's been doing well (babel aside tongue.gif) it's a matter of which system suit for the next game. when he got it right (scums game at home), he was praise like hell but when he got it wrong on few occasions his kiasu. its not entirely his fault. his own players let him down some times. example: yesterday's game. injuries doesn't help because the bench is full of average players because that what he could afford.

so to solely blame Rafa for this season failure is not entirely fair. blame the players too.. blame the captain for not motivate his players.. blame the physio oso if you want. huhu

i still want to blame rafa on his silly decision for causing a dip form of us this season..
it's all rafa's fault.. that's it..
*
it's your choices.. cheers!

QUOTE(sahathai @ Feb 22 2010, 11:23 PM)
so its need another 4 season for our players to be fresh and play good football again??
He should stop worrying about the next matches, but give his best to win the current match instead.. win the game first then rest ur players..
btw, those top teams didn't rotate their key players... they don't change 7-8 players per game...
rotation policy : the same old story...
*
1. who said rafa need another 4 season to make the team play good again? stop over-reacting..
2. thats what he always do. focus on the current game and see what suits the best. rotation is long term plan.. it is not worrying for the next game.
3. the other top teams have more firepower on their bench than liverpool. even if the rotate (they do rotate) you wont noticed it.

anyway, i said too many time before.. rafa did do some mistakes on his line up and tactics but even he did use the same tactics. it still up to the players to step up and play good football. example like the MC game. I thought 4-5-1 is good on the Eastland stadium because its a fotress this season. putting babel on to exploit on the counter attack (because according to you guys.. ngog slow and stupid) .. in the end, the defense line is solid but the middle even when they overpowered MC midfield, they lacked ideas on the final third. babel, kuyt, maxi, lucas and gerrard was poor.. dem poor. masch defense is good but contribution for attacking is shite.

QUOTE(leftist @ Feb 23 2010, 09:05 AM)
sorry i didnt recall any lucky involving our defense...adebayor shot that was block by pepe is actually handball that the stupid ref didnt see..and that chance when skrtel was alert enough to make a gud tackle on adebayor is also no lucky element..if it was lucky, its man city that got it..they were lucky that yossi not going down in the penalty area after being tackled!..that man city team is far more expensive than liverpool team..so plz give our team some credit..imagine if rafa got that amount of budget that man city has rite now rolleyes.gif
*
yup. give the defense a lil bit credit. they kept adam johnson (who was really lively), bellamy, barry and adebayor at bay. maybe skrtel got lucky be able to catch up to adebayor on that one time but he was solid at the back. agger did a few mistakes but still alright in my books.

hopefully del bosque doesn't use torres more than 15mins in the meaningless friendly.. rafa should request that since that old man is a friend of his.

aqua too soon to call a flop. players from crappy Serie A should be given a season or two to adjust themselves. if the rumors about he getting virus again is true, then its either he missed some vaccine shots when he's young or been living off in the dirtiest place on liverpool. either way, i think he need to be safely wrap in a plastic bubble wrap.
