i migrated from the old WinMo 2003. One thing that i miss the most comparing to the new HD2 is the lack of a clock on the top start bar. Running programs or whatever, i can lose track of the time. Any way to get the time on the start bar?
*
go Settings -> All Settings -> Clock & Alarm. Under the more tab check the Show Clock on Taskbar.

When you run the exe file on your phone - after is complete it will softrest. This hotfix the application type is slightly longer than normal and it will overwrite the older hotfix ( if you have applied). While the hotfix is being applied sametime you can do other tasks on the phone. It will prompt you to softrest when complete
*
It auto soft reset by itself, that why I am checking does anyone having the same issue. By right should be able to reapply the hotfix, anyhow now try downloading from another server and try again.

Looks like I bump into error during the update cry.gif Now can't reinstall the hotfix. Error message "This hotfix is not compatible with your device" . cry.gif

Looks like time for me to take this opportunities to flash custom ROM.

I dig deeper and check the setup xml file, found followings;

CODE
<parm name="NoUninstall" value="1" />

This explain why UnInstall not allowed.

Go further down, found registry entry
CODE
<characteristic type="HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\Hotfix">
<parm name="Messaging_Client_Version" value="20100112-00" datatype="string" />
</characteristic>

Anyone haven't apply the 8007 hot fix, what is your value? Apparently the setup did finished, but my experience was difference from yours. Anyone know how to hack the setup.xml and allow reinstall?

Hi guys, want to ask if anyone know is the HTC HD2 an international warranty? I have a Singapore set that im using now but thinking of selling it as WinMo still frustrates me. Love the screen though.

Am thinking of selling but want to check if warranty are supported in Malaysia or not. Looking to sell at around 2000-2200 . Think can sell?

Perhaps you can enlightened us on your frustrations. I could be biased but I prefer Windows ( though it had some weakness ). I'd been "playing " with PDA phones since the FIRST day it was available - yes more than 15 years already. So much so , buying and changing pda phones is already a expensive hobby. Friends say I am a phone addict - I can say you name it, most probably 9/10 I have used it.

My personal experiences with Symbian ( all versions till s60 v5 ) , iphones, blackberry, WM ( till ver 6.5 ) : I still find WM serves my needs best.

Spore sets if you sent in - only HTC ( KL) NOT SIS will entertain. You need to show official receipt purchase - a standard service charge fee I think around RM 80 is charged once your unit taken in. It is similar to iphones/ipod Touch ( even with warranty ) - whether your unit can repair or not this service charge is payable

just want to share... here are some accessories i got from ebay

here's a car holder from hong kong. it's quite sturdy and hugs the hd2 snugly from the side. what i do is that i let the base rest slightly on my dashboard so that when i hit bumps the unit doesnt shake or rattle much. got it from ebay, but forgot for how much, around RM40 i think

Leather pouch from PDair. It mimics the original HTC case design which i like (not a big fan of clip ons or flipovers). Has a nice premium feel to it. RM120

Flashing this will not cause loss of data. Check v1 for details.

BTW the new hot fix improves the sms speed tremendously, but did not solve the sms stuck at outbox issue. Still experience stuck sms this morning.

This hot fix does not provide uninstall. I think only way to verified was check the registry. Check my previous post for details.
