Changing Iphone because stupidly, maxis charges when we are surfing using WIFI. That bugs me, a whole lot. Even when we've already had the wifi connection set!
This month alone, her Iphone is topped up to RM 300, might as well get a darn line instead. And her father wants the phone, so go ahead.
The E72 has a bundle for 2 phones for a nice price saving (The CNY one). I have always wanted to use a BB, so, yeah. GPS is free on both phones right?
From what I understand here, you're complaining that you get charged, presumably by using data/WAN plan even when you're connected to Wifi?
That "wave" symbol does not mean you're connected online. It just means that you're connected to that network. Think of it like you're being able to get past the ushers at TGV but unable to get into the cinema halls. You're connected but "teh internetz" does not flow. The iPhone then searches for other means of connecting online, which is your data/WAN plan.
Either use apps that disable WAN/data plans or jailbreak and install apps that do that. Maxis is being the goof at fault here but dumping the iPhone for for those phones are serious downgrade, to me at least. You lose screen estate on the BB and for the E72, well......Symbian is getting too long in the tooth, so to speak.
But hey, it's your dough. To me, anything other than Nexus One is a downgrade, and withdrawal syndrome will kick in later for that. To me, a user shouldn't have used the iPhone if they're not prepared to embrace its day-to-day usage pattern, because once you move back down the rungs to more "rudimentary" phone, losing that multitouch UI would leave a serious dent on your experience later.
Just my 2000 rupiah.
