QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Jan 15 2010, 10:29 PM) @sklchan the function is same as the locking, but if u choose api lock it mean mykeylock will just send the api call for phone lock instead of simulate the physical lock slider (u can imagine it as when u left ur phone idle it will autolock without need u to slide on the lock key and of coz without vibration as well) actually what it means by api locking method? got this selection but i dunno how it functions. (but of coz ur previous setup must be good enuf lah) Added on January 15, 2010, 10:45 pmsomebody claiming the battery draining fast issue, might need help from our dearest forumer to monitor on that... my theory on this (hopefully lah) is: maybe the battery indicator "non-linear" issue been resolve?? if it have been resolve maybe now what we seeing the battery drain is reflect exactly what the battery juice we left?? (previous firmware we confirm the battery indicator will drop if u ever restart the phone and will drain very fast after the initial 7 bar) This post has been edited by sklchan: Jan 15 2010, 10:45 PM |

QUOTE(midnight_plue @ Jan 16 2010, 05:18 PM) let me tell u my sad story of this tube la... Plue, seriously sien... i have been having problems with this phone since day 1 i bought it, last Monday to be exact... nothing can be done except wait for firmware update... den fine, came along firmware update, i update it, most problem solved BUT another one occur, which is the damn memory card. i did what XM and sklchan advise me to which is format MC + hard reset, which I did, and I never restore my previous data cuz nothing much needs to be restore anyway. What I did was only move back Garmin folder into MC + install it etc etc etc. Only Garmin. den problem happen lor. Whenever I restart my phone, if got new msg comes in, it says "unable to detect memory card. Msg will now be stored in Phone Memory". I was like WTF la. Tried a few times, still liddat. Went to NCC today and their technician tell me what u know. Either ur software got problem, or ur memory card got problem. Duh like i dunno. I told him bout the class 2/4/6 mem card problem, seems like they ARE NOT aware of this problem. so what to do. they suggested me to format phone + mem card which I agree to. After waiting for like 3 hours, i collect my phone, and ask them what's the problem. U know what they tell me? Data in mem card got virus, thus affect ur firmware. WTF. I only had Nimbuzz, Tweets60, Opera Mini 5 beta, Garmin and Winter Lite by Pizero installed! And only 1 MP3 in my mem card. So tell me la, where went wrong? Can Garmin be infected with virus? O_O Or the other apps being infected? T___T But still I am not giving up on this phone... yet! Added on January 16, 2010, 5:18 pm how come so light/ Mine a freaking 219MB! please set your msg to be save in C: and not E: because it's known problem since previous firmware the msg storing will failed if set it at E: drive, this error won't happen all the time but it will intermitten pop up the error of accessing mem card. for the garmin issue, the size of the folder contain sure will different from others ppl because it all depend what they have as the map and others customise content... my garmin map cost me 174Mb which i manual build from malfreemap include all detail as well as both east/west malaysia topography map. For now i not dare to say your comp is infected by virus... |

i've run the current drain for more then 8 hours and the recorded stat show after the new firmware update the battery consumption INCREASE from average 3mA to average 7mA. Measurement done using the energy profiler and compare with my previous captured data. So the phone will last not as long as before. From the captured data there's lots of spike about 7mA-10mA.

QUOTE(andrewhtf @ Jan 17 2010, 09:21 AM) I have noticed another problem which was not resolved with v40. My phone's clock runs slow/delayed. Although i have set auto update to off, but it still happens. I need to reset my clock daily to match my wristwatch so i won't be late in waking up... Since alarm is based no the clock itself, so previous suggestion on using calendar to set alarm won't work too.... Any other way? the clock auto update is updating the clock to the "Actual global time" and not following your own "wristwatch time" doh... |

opera mobile beta 2 u can disable it's default opera keypad input and use the phone default input mode...
currently only using the opera mobile beta 2 for the default browser replacement. Added on January 18, 2010, 12:03 pmthe battery issue as what I've mention it's mostly due to the background apps not fully idle when the phone in lock mode (idling) and causing lots of current spike. did anyone try to monitor the charging bug? once the phone got fully charge the screen will lid on... but anyone notice after like (30mins - 60mins) did the phone re-charge back?? so far i didnt notice the phone will re-charge back, and if that's the case are we loosing the batt juice just after the phone fully charge or it will just drain from the charger?? if it's not drain from the charger then if anyone charge overnight and then when they unplug their phone at the morning mean the phone already drain the batt for the whole night with the screen lid... QUOTE(saw2001 @ Jan 18 2010, 10:18 PM) when any electronic device drop into water, first thing will cause the defect is that the device still on power and the water will get component shorted (especially those active components), but in modern electronic the device just auto shutdown when this occur to prevent damage. for me i think the most vulnerable device is the lcd display since it utilise high voltage to lid up (voltage regulator) as well as the resistive touch screen layer where the water will short out the whole screen input. my advice would be:1. unplug the battery 2. open up the device covers 3. open up the device screen 4. expose the mobo to some heated environment (not below the sun ok, just beside it) for more then 48 hours 5. observe any components that will "accumulate water" example the speaker, mic, coils or transformer 6. all the screen lcd, resistive layer, and those "water accumulate" components need to expose under heated environment more longer time and if possible u may need a "dry" air gun to blow off those excessive accumulated water. 7. use alcohol (those that ppl use to clean their old radio cassete head) and a cloth and wipe those dried out mobo and screen (to get rid of the watermark which might still conductive) 8. assemble back the phone if still donno how to proceed... just send for NCC or buy a new phone This post has been edited by sklchan: Jan 19 2010, 09:36 AM |
