Exactly but i would recommend Benq S57 since it has the best specifications within that price range.P8700+HD4650 is certainly a good combo and newer games should be a breeze to play.

If you want good warranty support, the consider the Dell Studio 15.

Otherwise, for better gaming performance, I'd recommend this instead. Bear in mind the base package doesn't come with an OS or HDD which means that the final price will be higher. wink.gif

hehe..Xmas promo oso not much la bro..

Dell dont really give much during promo like it did about 3 years ago..

Now after Economic crisis, they had to cut costs and many more to save $$.. Don't expect much promotions.. maybe RM100-200 Rebates. smile.gif

there is no 'gaming' laptop within 3.5k range, unless you bought it overseas. dell s15 is a durable multimedia laptop. for 4.2k you can get an XPS16(extra money on 4gb ram upgrade).

if you dont care about brand, s57

-GPU with at least 512Mb n 128bit (something like Ati 4650 or better)

i dont care about brand.. and fyi, i found BenQ factory in Seberang Jaya, Penang.

then i think benq s57 suits you, or sager np2098, but bear in mind that sager np2098 the FN key and CTRL key are "terbalik", which you need quite some time to get used to, quality wise, i would say sager win

anything with 4650 or better, i dont think you can get it in RM3.5k

I have tried the NP8662 briefly. Back when it was first released, it was one of the best 15" notebooks money could buy, at a damn reasonable price too.

if you can get a s57 then go for it...
is really BD and portability issue you have.
S57 might give u better performance due to better processor though you can upgrade the sager for sure...with extra money of cos...

Isn't "3m" is in reference to the length of the cable? 3 metres in length?

Well, just like everybody said before, strongly advice dun buy laptop in PC Fair (as warranty issue might come handy later, excluded Dell though)

Sager, as term of gaming laptop is rarely seen around MY because its not a MY product and yet to be sold in any of MY computer shops nod.gif..but, everyone that already in laptop gaming world would know about this laptop, and for sure can tell you that it is one of the most powerful gaming laptop there is in the market...

But again, with RM3~3.5k budget, your best bet would be BenQ S57 (well, if you can find any now laugh.gif) and also Dell SXPS 16 hmm.gif

they also partner with one service center around KL if not mistaken, so can send to there...

Yup, MY & SG (well their HQ is in SG) will be handle by Mucro, so nothing to worry about warranty no more..can always send it to Mucro straight away nod.gif...

Or maybe you can opt on Dell Studio XPS 16 brows.gif

what i can say is , u need to really think carefully
n will depend on luck

my fren work at pc fair which located at MITC there
he tell me that , mostly the price will be same , or may be just discount 100 or 200 only
and with more free gifts
but almost all the laptop are display unit
thy just put into a bag only

many people give old stock or display unit, and a good place to con people also, if you want more free gifts maybe you can buy in PC fair, but if i want to buy laptop, i will go to shop and buy instead of PC fair, and those free gift, take or dont take doesn't matter to me

Normally free gifts oso available even without PC Fair so why bother? Only you miss the gifts from the Company itself.. take for instance Acer's 3 years Super Care Warranty on certain models biggrin.gif

Well, i use BenQ S42, for me its quite expected for a laptop with such spec to be a bit hotter than usual smile.gif...but still, its manageable hot, not like damn hot laugh.gif...

Please check both GPU for G450 and 4736G....S42 use 9600M GT, with such card in a 14" laptop, heat is most probably a problem but still manageable nod.gif...

Mine here running at 60C idle and load at 90C icon_idea.gif...

My BenQ been going strong for more than a year now, never send to SC nod.gif...

R45, comes with 8400M GS...no wonder sweat.gif...well, got to say that R45 is one of BenQ laptop with quite poor cooling system, i tested one before and its really is hot sad.gif...but rest assure as BenQ S42 is far more cooler than R45, and it won't produce heat much...what do you expect from a 14" with quite a heat-burner GC laugh.gif...

That would depends back to the notebook design and its system cooling.
But generally yes, since it need to cramp those heat-generator in such small places.
Its not like desktop where you have much more space for better airflow.

Well, this is simple....you are now playing game (exp : Crysis), before game starts the temp for both CPU/GPU is 42C/58C....and on with the game, temp while running the game for sure will go up like CPU/GPU is 64C/75C...

Yes, the more demanding the game, the more stress it put onto the CPU/GPU which will cause it to heat-up pretty easily smile.gif

If you're going to game, get a desktop. Or better, get a cheap desktop. Notebooks can heat up all too easily, and is good for people who use for outdoor work and only game occasionally, or don't play online games where it can stretch for hours.

by no way i mean offense, but i guess you need to read thoroughly for the particular forum..
on the next page of your particular quote, they have found out about modded driver, namely DOX and Nautis for benq s42
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread...t=281228&page=4
one thing is, S42 Always have problem of heat when using the original driver, under vista
note that they also mentioned their GPU switching time is ard 5-15 sec, running vista,
while mine only need 3-5 sec switching either card in Win 7.
like Monza said, pls head to BenQ thread for further details,
and the details is at the very 1st page of the thread.

Well, not that its not good for gaming but rather small for a gaming laptop...as we can see, M11x spec is definitely a killer when come to games but ths screen just kinda small of gamers to be satisfied by it...well, for most usually a bigger screen would be much, much better smile.gif...

Well, if you dun really care about the size, then its really is a good gaming laptop icon_idea.gif

Actually I saw a person playing games on it, in a MRT and I like go wow. So I check the spec on Dell web site. It doesn't look impressive, but great portability - small and compact, though.
These days I beginning to see a trend of people using their laptop to play games on board airplanes.
