I'm one satisfied user of 55" for the past 8 months smile.gif Lots of good features and great PQ (especially in HD). Colors are natural and accurate with good speaker sound (2 main speakers and woofers + tweeter) with Audessey EQ Surround. Until now I still feel it was worth my money to get it. The only down side is the reflection of its panel which is obvious when the screen is in total dark. Sitting opposite of the windows or sliding doors when watching the tv is bad idea unless you pull the curtain to block the sun light.

Thanks for the feedback bro, so it's quite reflective eh?

Thinking between this, Panasonic P50V20K and Samsung 58" Plasma.

Yah it's around that price, it's still cheaper than 55" Toshiba though which is about ~8k.

reflection in total dark means if you switch off the tv then you can see yourself on the screen but once switch it on, the reflection is very minimal or you wont notice it when concentrating on the show, not like typical plasma reflection.

I am also one very satisfied owner of the 55ZV for a few months now. Like Daren mentioned, the PQ is really great. I have always been very against LCD TVs (and my previous TV was a Panasonic plasma) but the ZV changed my perception completely. It was great when I saw it in the showroom and just as good when I took it home. I love the colors. nod.gif

The only downside is the panel is very reflective especially when watching in the daytime. But this is the only negative point. biggrin.gif

Thanks, something to consider - price is closer to P50V20K now.

Yah generally I don't like LCD or LED sets, they are too sharp, too vivid and everything ends up looking animated (Samsung is the worst for this).

But I saw a high end audio shop selling these Toshiba sets, they only sell Toshiba and a few Pioneer Kuro sets...so I was impressed.

And well Plasma screens are known for their reflective properties anyway so I don't think that would be a big issue for me. Planning to have blackout curtains anyway.

Will have to go check out a few sets and see how I like the PQ.

I understand that the Backlight and Contrast settings will be disabled under AutoView picture mode, not too sure about the availabilit of Backlight Pro setting. If it is available under this picture mode, the optimal setting would be subjective to individual user's viewing environment and ambient light condition. You could try to adjust it at different time of the day like during day time, evening and night time to determine your preferred backlight level in correspondent to the ambient light level detected during the time of the day.
