Good profit margin, not to mention there's only a small percentage of people renewing their road tax / insurance online so there's lots of room to grow, though that depends on how MYEG plans to educate and make the rest of the population use its services as Malaysians in general i think are still a bit wary when making online transactions. It's also the main e-govt service provider, with its previous rival myspeed being bought over by myeg, while KOMMS(rilek) is in my opinion much inferior to myeg in terms of customers, site traffic, exposure.

Other than road tax / insurance renewals, lots of other e-payment services for the govt that MYEG can venture into ie taxes, permits, vehicle registrations, etc.

Balance sheet good, with quite a sizeable cash on hand vs liabilities.

the only downside is the PE is quite high after EPS is diluted by bonus issue in year 2009.

however, it was mentioned in the AGM about the optimism to achieve double digits growth in revenue this year due to higher internet penetration,
and more service kiosks to be added....
in near future, a new service - online mykad replacement will be launched...
besides, myeg will invest 40M in online service tax monitoring system, and in each subsequent years there might be launching of one or two new services, so the prospect is good..

hence, myeg can be considered as a high growth stock, worth to invest ..

With this arrangement, Pos Malaysia - the Government’s appointed agent to disburse
fuel cash rebates - will first verify the claim before making payment to the eligible
vehicle owners via money order within seven working days, or crediting the amount into
their bank account within three working days.

Vehicle owners can check the status of their fuel cash rebates at any point of time
through MYEG’s portal.

MYEG’s Executive Chairman Dato’ Dr. Norraesah bt Haji Mohamad said, β€œThis new
service is an extension of our newly-launched online road tax renewal service in April
this year. With this latest initiative, eligible vehicle owners can now renew their road tax
and submit fuel cash rebates claims simultaneously using the online channel. We are

In June 2008, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had announced the
disbursement of fuel cash rebates to cushion the impact of higher fuel prices. Eligible

offices nationwide or through Pos Malaysia’s online portal at www.posonline.com.my.

The Government has announced that the eligibility period for the fuel cash rebates

has been stagnant for months, today finally moving a bit.... hopefully the trend can maintain ...

don't know how much it will fly... last time it flew up to ~0.55 then next few days came back down and stayed around 0.45.

I read that this company is developing some sort of program to track the sales/service tax for pubs and restaurants, am I right? With the latest announcement of GST replacing sales/service tax, will MYEG's development go to waste? Does anybody know?

The reason for govt wanting MYEG to develop the program is to catch those who under declare their sales/service tax. But with GST, these pubs/restaurants should be eagerly declaring their taxes so they can claim back the GST, yes?

It is almost guaranteed that Govt will back their GST products.

The big problem is that their bottom line isn't growing as fast as you would expect from a company that's very cozy with the government.

But the thing is, GST is different from sales/service tax.

In Sales/Service tax, the pubs might underdeclare their revenue and the sales/service tax. That's why there's a need to put in a systems to monitor how much it the revenue or sales.

But in GST, it is a self monitoring mechanism. The pubs would will want to declare the full revenue and sales so that they can claim the GST credit. So, maybe then there isn't a need to have a systems to monitor the pubs.

Well they still have to declare anyways, less or more, just that myeg's product makes it easier. Actually I don't understand your question haha

That's only one of their product lines, they have lots of other products including road tax and kiosks. Edge mentioned something like 20+ in development.

MyEG is a great stock to hold,they have contract with government until 2015,which means their 'rice bowl' is very secured,added with high ROE,high CAGR,great profit margin..its just a matter of time for the stock to fly,waiting to stock up at 0.40:D:D:D

Initially there were 3 companies given the concession for government eservice,including MyEG.In 2008,MyEG acquired one of its competitor MySpeed.Currently,MyEG has control over 40+% over the market.

Dividend is not good. Dont buy this counter for dividend. But this counter has its potential as mentioned previously.

The stock is already ex-dividend.


Does anyone know why this counter surge so much today? I almost wanted to queue sell at 0.485.

Probably a random goreng.

There hasn't been any new indication that it is showing the fruits of its close ties with the government, not until the next two QTR reports anyways.

What kind of syndiket will goreng this counter? This is not is goreng counter. He's going to get burned.

They probably make a lot of money and drive nicer cars than ours

Anyways if you look at this stock's history, MYEG may get gorengs of relatively high volume and reach a exciting price, before quickly settling down to its boring low price. This current price doesn't look sustainable so if you intend to lock some profit, don't wait too long. If you like MYEG for long term, the payoff will take quite a long time.

I don't know what to buy if I sell MYEG. So I guess I'll be holding on to this stock for some time.

The last time the price went up so high, above 50 sen, was due to strong recommendation by an online finance blogspot.

Haha. There's a disclaimer at the bottom of his blog, I think. It's a good counter to keep, hope to sell at 0.60.

I don think you can judge a technology company its NAV.

If i not mistaken, NAV for this MyEG should be 0.16. If you NAV is your judgement, I don't think you will buy it.

in my opinion, cannot value MYEG purely based on NAV,
MYEG is mainly providing services which do not require heavy assets

same thoughts.

Think if they got new government service to boost their growth, the price can be justify, the growth had been slowed last year because lack of new killer services...
Maybe that's about time to launch new services... bought some last week.
