I read that this company is developing some sort of program to track the sales/service tax for pubs and restaurants, am I right? With the latest announcement of GST replacing sales/service tax, will MYEG's development go to waste? Does anybody know?
The reason for govt wanting MYEG to develop the program is to catch those who under declare their sales/service tax. But with GST, these pubs/restaurants should be eagerly declaring their taxes so they can claim back the GST, yes?

QUOTE(Aggroboy @ Apr 11 2010, 10:59 AM) It is almost guaranteed that Govt will back their GST products. The big problem is that their bottom line isn't growing as fast as you would expect from a company that's very cozy with the government. But the thing is, GST is different from sales/service tax. In Sales/Service tax, the pubs might underdeclare their revenue and the sales/service tax. That's why there's a need to put in a systems to monitor how much it the revenue or sales. But in GST, it is a self monitoring mechanism. The pubs would will want to declare the full revenue and sales so that they can claim the GST credit. So, maybe then there isn't a need to have a systems to monitor the pubs.

I've been holding this stock for almost a month now. Not much volatility. At such P/E valuation, I'm beginning to wonder if the "rapid growth" in earnings have already been priced into the current stock price.

QUOTE(newbie99 @ May 3 2010, 10:44 PM) The last time the price went up so high, above 50 sen, was due to strong recommendation by an online finance blogspot. I see, so the blogger's the shark behind the goreng session la.

QUOTE(myintbiz @ May 14 2010, 12:02 AM) yup.. here's a research report frm PM Sec that fair value is 0.585.. Dear value investors, what are you going to do? Based on the report above, fair value is RM0.585. If you believe the report, then the stock is currently above its fair value. Are you considering selling? I won't. Holding on to this stock until the next financial crisis Regret didn't buy more.

QUOTE(hengwoon @ May 20 2010, 02:08 PM) Some news from the edge: KUALA LUMPUR: Goldman Sachs International has emerged as a substantial shareholder in MY E.G. SERVICES BHD [] with a 5.04% stake. A filing with Bursa Malaysia showed that it held 30.3 million shares on May 12. The shares were acquired from the open market, according to the filing on Wednesday, May 19. Cool.
