QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Feb 7 2011, 04:21 PM) Is it easier or harder to apply for medicine as an International student or local or PR student? see it this way: 1000 internationals applying for the 20 spots vs whole bunch of year 12s from all over the country for the 100 seats. Both are hard in my opinion. Just be the best, that's the rule of getting into med. I heard PR students saying that they wish to be international students, while we as international students hoped to be PR holders. The irony. haha. If you're doing say, MUFY, you'll have some advantages getting into Monash. But like Hikari said, it's your final score that counts. (+ your ISAT and interview results =P )

QUOTE(RBR @ Feb 13 2011, 11:03 AM) Do you have any supporting evidence to back that up? It is common knowledge that iiNet does not and has never passed over subscriber information to rights holders. my friend was issued a warning letter for downloading some disney movie through torrent. =P and he was using iinet. But still, he didn't get fined or anything.

QUOTE(immabee @ Feb 15 2011, 01:00 AM) Hahahaha. Just touched down to Perth not long ago. Got me quite a shock as I saw the city is even smaller than several Malaysia cities except KL though they have scattered suburbs and really quiet at late night. Needs time to get used with it. I understand how it feels to have the boredom. Was a bit moody area and clearly I have observed what you've just said. It's so true! Was not used with the chinese food here due to the portion and the way they prepared theirs, quite heavy. However, that's not the main purpose to come over to Perth. For my first impression, it's not really the place to be. But you'll never know. Let's just see what happens within a year. I'll keep you guys updated if I've the time. . Sry if you have spent few minutes of your life reading nonsense. hope you'll get used to Perth soon. it's a lovely place =) hmm, there are a lot of msian cuisines. afaik, there're many Msians there in perth =) QUOTE(zeke'stah @ Feb 15 2011, 01:43 AM) hahaha.....it's alright bro... it's 4.12am now in adelaide.. my boredom is cuz my room mate is not here and im like ALONE. haha... not so easy to make new friends especially if classes have not started yet.. haha.. keep in touch bro! oh ya im going to perth on the 18th... ^^ 18th as in 3 days later? O.o

QUOTE(NUR_VER.3 @ Feb 17 2011, 11:32 PM) Lots of Asians are taking accounting or finance major in commerce... But in international business major, you can really mix along with aussies, US, Russian and lots of European students... i guess international business really have broad "international" students in their class LOL.. should be a lot too in biomed faculty and engineering faculty. Not much asians studying in the geoscience faculty though. =) but agree, UWA is really awesome. =D love the environment, and broadway is really near too if you're sick of the ref. xD

QUOTE(tygerprinz @ Mar 18 2011, 07:46 PM) YES. But ANU has a good reputation for research. Students doing masters and higher degrees don't mind Canberra as they've already had the 'fun' college experience elsewhere and are ready to settle down for serious study. Canberra is a small 'artificial' city; being the seat of government, it attracts migrants from all over Australia who are mostly civil servants (read: BORING). IMHO, it's the most boring major city in Australia with extremes in temperature to boot. how isit compared to tassie? I heard Canberra is way better than tasmania =/

We're having 5C in Hobart and I'm freezing at night. Being lethargic all the time, and cocooning myself in my quilt =/ having 15-20 is just ideal, but not below 10. and guess what? it's not even winter yet. yays.

QUOTE(TanJinKei @ May 31 2011, 10:27 PM) did MUFY recognized by most of the universities in Australia. One of my friend would like to go on dentistry programme in Oz. How about Unimelb, Impossible to enter with MUFY ? no more undergrad pathway for dentistry in melb U. but generally you can use it to apply for most of the unis in aus cos it is widely recognized. apply to woolworth/kfc/coles/mcd and wait for their news. Or you can do what I did last time, randomly walking into shops asking if there's any casual work/part time job vacancies. =P

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Aug 1 2011, 03:19 PM) Anyone studying medic in Australia? How much do we have to pay? How's the living cost there? depends on what uni you go to. generally, it's around 2x(or more) the normal tuition fees of other courses.

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Aug 2 2011, 06:13 AM) Which uni is good, and what is the roughly estimation of the fees? Thanks in advance Limeuu pretty much said it. They choose you. and no, it's not as easy as getting into med in ITPS in msia. have you done your SAM/Alvl/IB/form6/matrik/etc etc? I don't know which is better but I'm loving my uni. It's really an objective thing. so my advice is to apply everywhere, and have a backup course/uni if all goes wrong. I'm sure the academic adviser tells you that as well.
