iPAD is a better toy than the e-books. It is a better bargain compared to buying any e-books which arein the market now.

One other stiff competitor I am expecting is Creative which announced their tablet almost 8 months ago and never came out till today....

Well as you can see those textbooks has those links there which takes you to a site for interactive learning and such..
an iPad textbook can definitely easily embed all these features making the learning experience much niftier~

True... Singapore haven't announced yet. If it is available in Singapore, It should be in Malaysia. I was calling apple store malaysia for something else, and was told that the item would be in Asia in late April or early May. Announcement should come in 2nd week of April smile.gif

Actually with most of Apple products made in this region, it make sense to have a worldwide launch and release of their products but I guess the factories can't cope to produce that many units... Those days, some Apple products are assembled in Singapore, right? How about these days... still the same?

Nothing at Singapore now except softwares related. All hardwares are from Shenzen or Shangai China... flex.gif

irwan, have you tried shipping anything electronic via borderlinx? I've done non-electronic stuff only, biggest concern is possible SIRIM delay for it...

I have a US credit card so at least I can avoid the borderlinx concierge charges.

Apple US doesnt accept any other country CC... only way is to use comway and pay 10% service charge if very desperate to get the unit.... blink.gif

Msg from Hardware zone (Singapore)

If you've been following up on the iPad launch dates, it comes as no surprise that it'll be available in the US over the weekend. But for those of us living outside of the States, makr this date - 24th April. Word has it that this could be the launch date for the iPad outside of the US. But do take note that these are just rumors, and nothing has been substantiated as of now.

http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/31/apple-r...phone-os-4-0-i/

CODE
Engadget - Taking a step back to focus on the actual hardware for a moment, iPad in Canada is hearing that local Apple store employees have been told April 24th is a "black out period," meaning no one is allowed to take that day off. That usually coincides with major product launch, and we did hear the international iPad debut would be late April, but Apple's yet to make its non-US plans concrete.

Apple announced this morning that due to strong sales of the Apple iPad, they have delayed international delivery for about a month.
Although we have delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week, demand is far higher than we predicted and will likely continue to exceed our supply over the next several weeks as more people see and touch an iPad. We have also taken a large number of pre-orders for iPad 3G models for delivery by the end of April.

Apple reports that the high demand is responsible for the delay in international shipments. International delivery will take place at the end of May. Details and pre-orders will be announced on May 10th.
