you mean that all this time, Bold 9000 and the other mentioned devices didnt have os5? I didnt know this.

So RIM officially releases an Older os for these phones at the same time as it releases os 6?

what i meant is that for the older phones, RIM releases an older OS for them at the same time they release OS 6 for the newer phones?

This doesnt make sense. It's like releasing windows XP for some older pcs at the same time Vista is released. Does it make sense? It seems more RIM is trying to pacify their current customers.

Pity those Storm 2 owners.

But it doesnt make it right. RIM should put more effort into its current crop of customers rather than focusing on potential new ones. This is our right as customers I think.

i get what you mean. Can't do anything about it though.
In marketing lecture, there is a statement saying, its more costly to gain new customer than to sustain a loyal customer.

but its more glamorous to get new customers than to reward loyal ones i guess.
This is why RIM will ultimately lose out to android phones. Have you seen the hardware of those phones? insane. all ahead of their generation. why? to futureproof the device.

RIM is taking the same path as Apple.
