normally pre-construction site use "LINTREX 400", dilute 1:60-120, spray 5L/ M2 for termite control, can tahan 2-3years. REMINDER : Take 100% care to handle this extremely toxic chemical, HSE is a must.......

all DIY spray/brush is only for the surface treatment, termite/insects will still attack if :
1. cavities eg cracks, holes ex nails/screw etc 2. cross cut the spayed /brush wood (edge are now not protected) 3. chemicals diminishing due to rub, air (oxidation), decomposed (ageing due to UV or oxone) etc 4. leached away by water/rain/moists the best is to spray/brush all edge (after cross cutting) and put a thick coating on it. coating must be UV/oxone resistant to protect the chemicals underneath. of coz the best to ask the saw mills to treat the wood before send to construction. treatment must be done 100% (full penetration and have adequate chemicals retain in wood cells). u can test the chemicals/ penetration using a specific reagent (different reagent for different chemicals)... if u inteested to know... |
