Nobody thought of getting Henry back? At least better than allowing him to join Man City. Quality is still there, good back up. He can act like the old Bergkamp. A perfect role model for the youngster

Why would Wenger want Henry? Will Henry be willing to sit on the bench and be a bit part player? Not in the World Cup I think. Plus it will do more harm to the youngsters than good, as they will be naturally always look for him when on the pitch. The same as it was in Henry's final season at Arsenal. That will just make our play one dimensional and easy to predict. Further to that, I think his prowess is already on the wane.

I don't think we need Henry back because he will just rob the youngsters' chance of moving to the first team. I see that we will need more solid center backs that are good in the air. At least we wont struggle with set pieces anymore.

So we basically need a striker, a midfielder and a defender doh.gif

Btw, Metzelder is frozen out at Real Madrid and his contract will expire end of season. If I was playing Football Manager...

Exactly.

You want to bring in a world beater to compete with Cesc and stiffle Song and Ramsey's development right?

imo, i think parker (let say he comes in) could not match wif cesc n song. n now, song is very good player. he is improving a lot as well as ramsey. song's development really helps arsenal midfield. of course there are few mistakes but hey, he is still young. same goes for ramsey, he use his oppurtunity really well (cesc injured) nice passes from him n a goal too. rclxms.gif as for song's ACN, im sure denilson can step up for defensive midfield duty. n diaby play better also dis few matches. good for him tho.

wat i think now arsenal really need a brilliant striker who is eligible for UCL too. but as wenger said its hard to find in january transfer. but lets have faith in wenger n hope he can bring superb player in january. oh n a defender too might be good as backup in case of injuries etc.

so what u guys think recommended player for arsenal. i've heard rumors abt bellamy. hehe shocking.gif

btw, i still remember his "golfer" goal celebration

arshavin - dudu - nasri
diaby - rosicky
----denilson----

ramsey/vela shall rotate amongst the front 5

Honestly, as much as i hate Bellamy, i think he'll be a good addition to Arsenal. He's got some speed and has an eye for a goal and brings with him a wealth of experience playing in the EPL and he's pretty gung ho as well.

We don't really need a top notch striker at the moment, so we should cut off the likes of Chamakh, Robinho, Ronaldo, Dzeko or whatever top names. We need a stop gap striker who'd provide cover and chip in a goal or two when the going gets tough. Preferably someone who's powerful and physical. The thing is, when out strikers return from injury notably RVP and Bendtner, we'd have problem with strikers overload.

u know who we need?

robin van persie... biggrin.gif oh... we already got him. STFU ler... we don't need strikers. hehehe

we need is replacement for the aging Gallas. I'm sure Gallas is having a wonderful time with Vermy this season but the fact is he hasn't sign extension to his contract, which ends this season. He knows if he stays on, next season will be Djourou's season to make an impact. I do hope he stays and rotate with Djourou.

However, if u ask me, i don't want us to sign anyone but AW please play Senderos this weekend against West Ham. He is a good player, albeit error-prone.

Chamakh? Dzeko? no lah... no need to waste money. smile.gif

happy new year to all Gooners here in Lowyat.net

i missed the match again last night. sending the ma'am back to her school. but since we won, it's all good for me

downloaded the goals highlight and i like what i'm seeing from Samir particularly during the moves that resulted in his goal. the goal itself already a very very good goal, but i am more impressed with the more penetrative move shown by him when he overhit his cross to Dudu. i'd really like to see him doing more of the same, not overhitting his cross mind you..haha. i'd like to see him try to beat his marker more and try to be more penetrative in his game

AW is great at cloning players.
Diaby -> Vieira
Walcott -> Overmars
Van Persie -> Bergkamp
Adebayor -> Henry (FAILED!)
Clichy -> Ashley Cole
Flamini -> Petit

However, there is no clone of Tony Adams yet.
