Anyone read about the new Biostar Bio-Unlocking? With a BIOS update the boards can now unlock specific cores, but they did not mention which boards are eligible.

Hope this comes to their previous boards, then I might have more cores to play with

its 45nm for the 930 and for the 980EE it is 32nm...not confirmed but most likely...

usually they'll apply it for all since most of their board are similar, d question is which board will get d kick start 1st. my bet is one of d ddr2 board, biostar always prioritize budget platform (not that ddr2 is cheap nowadays but most biostar users are still on ddr2 i believe). core selection options would be a nice feature...

coz gaygay virus + msi poison are widely spread in this thread, w/ most sifu2 here ledi usin d 2 brands.

another one is premium chipset

biostar untuk budget ocer.

and amd ocer is not affected by the global recession so thats why they pay thru their nose for a decent make and model.

I run computations most of the time..

even with my current rig, most of the time im running boinc + cuda

maybe later will add an ati card to run together

tough call...

pros:
- easier ram oc
- decent chip oc
- 8x each @ CF

cons:
- that fookin master pci-e slot placement
- poor built quality for some
- bad distro support???

gaygay

pros:
- great build quality
- award bios


cons:
- cf @ 16x + 4x
- not so sure bout ocbility but wont be too far behind/ahead of biostar
- ram oc need more tweakin > i found ram oc is easier on 790gx a3+ if compared to 790fxt, could be d noobness of me thou... too advanced until i dunno what to set
