ya ram is ddr3 1066 only (pc8500) according to d naming... spd table doesn't show any 800 (ddr3 1600) column. is that d one u bought in lelong.com???

don't be disheartened, as long as it can do 1600+/- @ cas 7, doesn't seem too bad to me.

oc jgn x oc bro... c3 can do wonders... dun 4get to give d 5770 a run of 3dmark... wanna d cpu score, especially 06 (since i don have decent gfx, even 3850 @ cf is like kura2 nowadays )...

initial burn in @ 3.8GHz w/ < 1.4v is a gud kick start...

from 533 to 900? don't u think ur askin too much? i'd be happy if it can do 1600+/- 100 @ cas7 w/ decent voltage like 1.7~1.8v.

aint so easy to do a 900 on amd platform...

buleh nyer bro, amd are being kiasu only this time... for a 3.2GHz, imo d chip only need 1.25v or slightly less. if ya chip can't do 3.8GHz w/ < 1.4v, campak ke sgp, biar kawe seksa betul2...

yup2, that's what i do now, benchin + oc usin (even for low end rig pencen) super old 40GB sata while d wd black for normal + agricultural activities...

also, do try to put ganged mode (some performance hit but gud for stability iirc) to ya ram & bump ya vdimm a 'lil. 1.7~1.75v won't hurt.

lol... was just pullin ya leg bro... it will take you sometimes to figure out how to tame d chip even u're familiar with d board, diff chip diff "pattern"... i'm quite sure u'll give us d result we want in a week or few...

load temp @ 62'c is kinda high to me, reapply d thermalpaste lah... dun be so stingy mah...

as for tmpin2, does it remain d same even b4 d stressin start or it increases gradually until reach 80'c?

i dun think u need to put pwm heatsink on those chokes...

ya vcore, vnb & vhtt is really high bro, u don't need such high especially for vhtt & vnb, < 1.4v or ~1.3v is more than enuf. u just gotta increase alot of vcore + vimc (cpu-nb voltage) if u oc cpu clock + nb freq alot.

for a 3.8GHz clock, u should be able to tame d chip @ ~ 1.40-1.45v only. load temp too is slightly on d high side.

u dont need to read mobo manual as they won't teach u how to oc, go HERE @ XS to read how 790fxt users tweak their chip usin d same mobo as yas.

some ocz modules have voltage issues only, no biggie. all u need to do is crank up d vdimm, 1.70~1.80v still consider safe for me even w/o active coolin.

np, i'm just tellin u based on my short experience w/ d board, mileage varies from rig to rig, some more we are usin diff piece of hardware. i have high hope for 965BE, even it's a c2 i'll still expect it to do 4.0GHz benchable w/ no sweat...

ya ram is capable of 7xx @ cas7 rite? why sell? it's just nice (thou can be better if can do 8xx @ cas 7) for amd platform, it's not so worth it to fork out another RM300~400 (or even higher) just for a pair of ram which has slightly higher overclockability. don't expect 9xx on amd platform, it aint an easy task & u need super high end module like dominator GT (not normal dominator) which can do 8xx/9xx cas 6 benchable. they'll cost u a bomb...

which bios ur usin now? from those that i've tried, most dislike drr1600 divider. ddr1333 is d way to go if u want high freq + tight timing.

i thought some users managed to do 3xx htt oc on this particular board?

i found biostar 790gx a3+ bios slightly richer than 790fxtud5p. but ram clockin session d latter is better. imo, no one beat dfi when it comes to bios richness... total control i must say...

3.8 w/ 1.35v only is really sweet... as for 4ghz issue, it could be temp that causin d inability to achieve stability apart from wall. i believe el cheapo biostar ddr3 board can better utilize ya c3 than d rog ddr2 board.
