ACCA is a professional course.....As such, it is tied to a professional body instead of a University. Therefore, there is no twinning programme available.

Hi, I hope im not too late in joining this thread.

I am currently trying to find options after my diploma. I am currently studying in TAR College. I am taking up Diploma in Business Studies (accounting). I am wondering if I can join Sunway after my diploma to do my degree there as well as my ACCA.

Is it possible? Or do I have to start all the way from CAT again?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

1) Yes, you can do a degree with us after your Dip. in Business Studies but you will have to check for exemptions first. Do send us your transcript and syllabus and indicate whether you'd like to do a BSc(Hons) in Business Management or Business Studies to info@sunway.edu.my

2) If you'd like to do ACCA, you'll have to start from CAT again. It is advisable to do a BSc(Hons) in Accounting and Finance to qualify for exemptions for 9 papers in ACCA. This is again, subject to exemptions and your results.

However, you will get lesser exemptions for a degree in Accounting and Finance compared to a degree in Business Studies/Management.

We will evaluate your diploma based on the subjects you took and how well you performed for exemptions from CAT/ACCA. The authorisation for exemptions will come from the ACCA body not from us.

Every course/programme will have a transcript and syllabus. Basically, it is the list of the subjects you took and how well you performed for each subject during your study there.

Transcripts are those results slip you get each semester showing your grade for the subjects you have taken. You would have to go and ask your program office for the syllabus or course structure of the subjects you have taken if you don't have it.It will usually show the topics in that subject, how many credit hours is that subject, the course objectives etc.

Can you kindly PM us your email address?

ACCA Examinations happen on June and December only.

Therefore, students entering the "Introductory level" intakes (March, April, and Sept) will sit for different no. of ACCA papers than the normal Jan/July intakes.

For example, students will take a longer time to sit for the total 9 papers if they come in March (March - June [2] / July - Dec [4] / Jan - Apr [3]). Compare this to Jan intake (Jan - June [5] / July - Dec [4])

Students can choose to take more papers in the same period, it will be up to the student.

Total Programme Fees for all intakes are the same.
