hi, i plan to do acounting(twinning programme) 1+2 > go australia university. i am deciding whether to choose MUFY or Ausmat or A level. i am going for march intake in sunway u. but i still haven't decide what course to choose. i have few questions, hope you guys can help me icon_rolleyes.gif

1. Ausmat is 50% exam 50% coursework. On the other hand, MUFY is 60% exam 40% coursework. Isn't more or less the same? What i know about Ausmat are, they have many quizes, tests, assignments and presentations. Almost every 2 weeks, they will have at least 1 quiz. Isn't true? and some of th e selected quizes are added into the 50% coursework. Isn't MUFY doing the same as Ausmat?

2. Is MUFY recognised by others Aus Universities such as Sydey Uni, Melbourne Uni... besides monash uni.

2. MUFY and Ausmat are also Australia Year 12, are Ausmat and MUFY studying the same things? or MUFY is different?

3. Ausmat is recognised by all private college, MUFY is recognised by selected college, but also Aus Uni, i plan to do accounting in sunway for my 1st year, then go Aus Uni for my 2ns and 3rd year. So which course shd i take? Which is much more easier?

4. Students have the option to extend the duration of study for instance to three semesters. So when only i can finish my MUFY? Do they have many or few students extend for the three semesters? Isn't a waste of time?

5. MUFY is easier than Ausmat? i know A Level is surely tougher than MUFY and Ausmat. brows.gif but, what i know is A Level's quizes, tests, assignment and presentation do not added into the final result.

6. Required how many marks for accounting studies if i take MUFY and A level respectively? What is the total marks for MUFY?

7. Ausmat doesn't suit me. So i want to know what is the different between Ausmat and MUFY. So that i won't take the wrong course shakehead.gif

Really appreciate for your replies nod.gif
~thanks~ ^^

1. AUSMAT is actually 50% on internal assessment and 50% external assessment. The internal assessment normally comprises of quizzes, topic tests, and assignments. It is true that you will have 1 quiz every week and it will be included in your internal assessment. The coursework for MUFY normally comprises of tests, quizzes, presentation, research, assignments etc.

2. MUFY is recognised throughout Australia, but being an internal foundation programme, the requirements to go into other universities besides Monash University will be slightly higher.

2. AUSMAT is an Australian Year 12, MUFY is not. MUFY is an Australian Foundation Programme, which means it is Monash’s internal foundation.

3. Both pre-university programmes will not be easy. How is your SPM forecast or actual results? How did you score in your English and Maths?

4. Extending your study to a 3rd semester means that you will study for another 6 months. Students who extend to 3rd semester actually cannot cope up with the studies and needs to bring up results.

5. A Level is more in-depth, therefore students will tend to presume that it is tougher. A Level is fully exam based and there are no coursework involved.

6. Where do you intend to pursue your studies in accounting? Entry requirement into different universities are different. The total marks for MUFY is 400.

7. What do you think about AUSMAT that does not suit you? I will need to understand so that it is not repeated in MUFY

I got 8A's and 1 B for my forecast result. B for Biology. Actual result has't out yet. I plan to do accounting/pharmacy in Monash university after A Level or MUFY. Twinning 1+2 for accounting. 2+2 for pharmacy if can. But what i know is monash dont have twinning prog for pharmacy rite? I would prefer study everyday than doing presentations, pop quizes, or assignments or researchs. MUFY's courseworks lesser than Ausmat or more or less the same? Does MUFY has pop quizes everyweek? Tests is ok with me. I didnt take account in my spm. So i doubt whether i like it or not? cry.gif i am sure that, i do not have interest in medicine, engineering, law, psychology.I like chemistry, but dislike biology. For ur information, i always get very bad result for my biology during my f4&f5. So which subject combination shd i take? By the way, what is fundamental mathematic? I saw people commented that it's like math in f4&f5. Isn't same level as f4&f5? i don't think it is that easy. and it is more for business studies and help you to score higher marks to push you up. Isnt true? besides, another question here.Maths n fundamental maths cant be taken together? pharmacy and accounting accept funds math? or they prefer if you take math? So if i take A level/MUFY, what is the entry requirement for accounting & pharmacy in monash uni and sunway college. Monash has dentistry? I think A Level suit me more. Do you think so? Or MUFY sad.gif i really don't have any idea. If i take A Level/MUFY, what subject combination should i take? So in conclusion, either accounting or pharmacy. For acccounting, i would like to continue my studies in Monash and twinning prog. For pharmacy, go for monash. Hope there is twinning prog. since i go for march intake, i only allow to take 8 units? For the accelerated program, a higher level of proficiency in english language is preferred. Why? Isnt bcoz we need to take 5 units in the 2nd sem then will be very rush for the english assignment?because we have to complete the same things as jan intake ppl. so, if i take 3 semester in my MUFY, so wont be that rush dy rite? or still same. have to finish up at the same time? i get confused for the 3 semesters wan. =(

1. We aren't sure about whether Monash has a twinning programme for Pharmacy. It is best that you call them to check, if you haven't already.

2. Both MUFY and AUSMAT has continuous assessments (quizzes, presentations, assignments, etc. ) on top of the final exams. If you prefer a 100% examination programme, it is best you take A-Levels.

3. For subject combinations, you will need to take at least 2-3 science subjects for Pharmacy depending on the University you will be applying to. Chemistry is a compulsory subject. Mathematics is recommended. You can choose to take Physics if you do not like Biology. Again, please check the entry requirements of the University you are planning to apply to, to see whether this is necessary.

4. On your orientation week, there will be a Maths Placement Test to determine which Mathematics will be suitable for you. In terms of difficulty, Fundamental Mathematics is the easiest and the hardest is Advanced Mathematics. Most students who do well in SPM Mathematics will usually end up taking Mathematics A & B.

For subject listings and course outlines for MUFY, please refer to the MUFY Brochure.

5. For A-Level / MUFY entry requirements to Monash, please check with Monash at http://www.monash.edu.my

6. We also have an Accounting programme here at Sunway which you might be interested in. You can decide at the end of your Pre-U semester about your options. A lot of it also has to do with your Pre-U results.

7. The English proficiency is preferred for understanding level. Students who struggle with English will struggle with the English syllabus so they will not have enough time to improve during the accelerated intake.

8. For 3 semesters, do not worry about it at this point. A lot of it will depend on your results, which we cannot tell at this moment.

Do register soon for our March intake! We will also be having our Open Day on March 13-14, so you can drop by to learn more.

For more personalised counselling, it is best you call us at 03-7491 8622 for us to understand you better and give better recommendations. We also offer Career and Aptitude Tests at our campus. You can drop by for a free sitting smile.gif

Hope all of this helps.

We hire a variety of lecturers on campus, rich or not. Financial assets are a private matter for the individual.

Why do you ask?
