Anyone watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in Blu-Ray? I read at Amazon.com discussion that the pq sucks, grainy, dark and cant see anything. true or not?

half blood prince is mostly a dark movie. the pq is considered very good for this genre though not as excellent as dark knight.

I have not watched Harry Potty 6 blu-ray so I cun't really comment... but I heard only good thing about the PQ or some sort of...

To some purist, grainy is a good thing PQ-wise bcoz it stays true to its original film's characteristic. I personally don't fancy grainy, because it reveals the deficiency of the film material... unless it was done intentionally by the filmmakers - to convey tone, feel & mood of the film.

Example of grain intended by the director

Halloween II sports a consistently heavy grain but seems a faithful replica of the director's vision.

The Devil's Rejects has a lot of grain that isn't misplaced and is not the result of a bad transfer. It's meant to be there so enjoy the look it adds to the film.

I would like to know if I'm planning to get a couple asian movies like Bodyguards and Assassins and others where should I get it. How about amazon.com or uk is it ok...

Amazon not always got asian movies. Alternatively, you can check with Playasia or Yesasia but their are quite expensive. There is actually few other websites also sell Asian movies but their also no cheap and I don't know whether their are reliable or not.

Or maybe you can compare their price with local shops.

I only use Playasia and Yesasia before. Beware, their are very slow unless you use express shipping.
