i'm getting it this sat la...24-70 provided they give me a good opening bargain...then next on my list is either a FF body(waiting for A900) replacement model or a G tele lens...

anxiously waiting for the CES 2010 announcement...for new alpha model...
*
what makes you wanna wait for A900 replacement instead of getting A900??
is it because still not happy with the high ISO performance and lacks of liveview?

ya la, true also.. but how much can i charge? RM300 for the pic.. well i need money.. lol.. but come to think of it, if she was on another bootcamp session, i think i would charge them. But since i practically known her for 3 months, future business is better i think.. too bad lor.. my loss for now.. no kata 467 for me.. darn!

eh come la.. im in PJ Astaka the 7am session.. they actually have this bring a friend day which falls on every 3rd week on a Saturday to let friend's try out the program, this month's bring a friend falls on the 22nd.. come try it out! lol its a very fun work out..

Ask nicely. This is not about friendship. its more on professional relation. Just throw the number and see how does she reacts to it. Don't think its wise to let she to use any of your content on the pretense of friendship. If they're hesitant to pay just ask them to put a note of acknowledgment on the next edition.

Respect you guys who still willing to work out that early. Weekends are my only guilty pleasure to wake up late after 5 days of 6am - 2 am habbit sweat.gif

Yess .. usually i'll try to highlight the sky more

actually it was a difficult shoot tht time , plus i was rushing w time to get tht shot
the lake is a restricted area , cannot cross in , so i hv to climb on the fence and stand still on it
i try to frame less ground and more of the reflection and sky ..
but at the end , the mosque placed to centre to balance the reflection + sky , if not the minarets reflection it'll cropped off

and regarding my case, i emailed The Edge already, asking for explanation how can it be used without my consent, the editor replied back. Mana tau, the editor is someone i know. See i have been joining this bootcamp thing, like "fitness on the field", the editor happen to be in my session. She explained to me that it was a mistake putting my pics up because her graphic guys kinda messed it up. took the wrong picture from wrong sources, and it went to print. She apologized for it la. Nothing after that, no compensation or any note up to the public saying that that pic is mine.. so basically, im in the dark.
I cant tell them to remove it, because it is already in print, its hard for me to send them an invoice, because like mutual understanding in the field, we workout like a platoon, like family wise kinda thing.. the workout sessions get very "brother/sister" (whatever word suits it la).. im in a difficult position, and i was thinking of letting this slide, but based on what you guys think, is it a wise choice? Say, to sacrifice a friendship over something like this, and kinda let RM300? fly?, i mean what do you guys think you would do in a situation like this?

Get her to belanja u makan or something
Or ask her to give u some credit in the next mag edition

lildaredevil906: Tell your friend that it happened anyway, and that professionally as a magazine that is what they do, they pay for pictures. So how? If your friend crashes into the back of your car, is he/she exempt from paying?

I have a few friends who are broke, and despite them being full-time photographers (by definition of not having any other job) they are still doing favors for friends. I would strongly advise you avoid that path.

If anything, you letting your friend know that it is wrong, will hopefully make them aware of the rights of photographers, and avoid other pictures being taken without consent!

SpOOkY: I have to say I love the AutoHDR function (by another name) and the "is the face in the picture?" function. I don't quite understand the W380 though; it's the WX1 without a backlit sensor.

Braynumb: The video with the MF screen has a split-prism focusing screen. For the sake of simplicity, it is really something most of us do not need to use.

Hi,

Just wondering, if you are in the market for for 70200, which would you choose? The Tamron or the SAL 70200? Considering that the Tamron is RM2k+ cheaper than Sony, but the Sony has SSM. I believe IQ wise, both should be both good and sharp.
