can you elaborate on the diarrhea? Sometimes excessive cecal may be taken as diarrhea. Feed lots of grass hay like Timothy Hay and stop the mix pellet. You may just need to balance things up....

Sorry for your loss. dig a deep hole in the garden and bury baby bunny? how young was the bunny when you bought it? Take some time to mourn and share with us your experience next time. It will be valuable for newbies. That rabbit mix is junk food not to be fed as staple. I think it is a conspiracy theory when lousy food is sold so that more rabbits will die and more people will buy more underage baby rabbits. Pet stores are still being ignorant as along as there is business. I am not saying that the mix is the cause of death but food like these should be get off the shelves.
Wonder when we will ever have petstores that are well informed so that accurate and good information is disseminated to the public. If 8 out of 10 customers that buys a rabbit that dies on them and they never want to ever have a rabbit in their lives anymore, they are losing 8 out of 10 customers. Never think long term. Short term business will never last. Blardy hell, teach customer the right way of keeping rabbits are not difficult! Same goes with underage rabbits. If they only take the time to explain to customers why they are selling older rabbits, soon demand for it will be there. Always sell cute stuff that dies what's the blardy use! Sorry, very pissed right now.... QUOTE(silenkill @ May 14 2010, 12:10 AM) any1 want? show rabbit 1.2kg RM20....cus jus now im trying to feed my rabbit cos he is not eating....everything is still brand new...OMG i duno where to start....u all can check out the petstore forum http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f...0#entry33729972 please..... help me clear all dis....every min/sec i see de stuff i 1 to cry.... |

Send it for cremation then. But I think that will cost more than a shovel.
Then most probably it got diarrhea from too sudden feed change. You really don't need that type of mix for touch up. Get the rabbit to stabilize with a fixed diet first. Then only slowly introduce something else. That would be safer. This part I am just venting my frustration and not directed to you: I sometimes wonder when will this forum move forward to more interesting topics than basic care. I really feel that those selling rabbits have the responsibility to teach their buyers about basic care. I really wonder why forum like this has become like 3rd level support for basic stuff. Really epic failure this pet industry of ours.....SELL till you DROP! QUOTE(silenkill @ May 14 2010, 09:05 AM) i wish i could....but i couldn't cos i don't have any shovel 2 dig a deep hole....it just get to become adult 1month ago.....ya i did feed de mix tablet but it just a touch up....i usually feed hay n show rabbit tablet....i don't know what happen....i feed that felle like use 2....aw~~that's fine...im actually thinking of burning it, then bringing into jungle and let it go...cause im going hiking tomorrow, as well as there he shall goes back to his home in nature and in peace.... It happens for many reasons and rabbits are very good at masking/hiding pain.
Reason for dropping dead: 1. GI Stasis/stomach stop working (after not eating) 2. Shock 3. Broken neck/back due to shock and slamming on the side of cage 4. Virus such as Myxomatosis 5. Rabbit Hemorrhaging Disease But since you talk about diarrhea, most probably it died of dehydration? QUOTE(silenkill @ May 14 2010, 10:03 AM) |

Surrender just seem to be the right word for certain people. What a brilliant idea....
QUOTE(Juztiny @ May 16 2010, 02:00 AM) My favourite mini lop Dewwy is now having running nose and cough. Already brought her to see the vet and now under medication. Hopefully she could recover soon. This post has been edited by sangterap: May 16 2010, 04:23 PMInitially I did not know Dewwy is having cough, I just feel funny why is she making sound like a pig. Then I noticed another strange sound coming from the other bunny, when I checked, it was my son's favourite lion head Simba making that sound, and I noticed he is not feeling well and having fever, whole body very hot, and running nose too. That time already near mid-night, I tried to feed him water and he didn't want to drink, and deep inside I know in such scenario, most likely he cannot pull through till next day. True enough, the next morning found him dead. Gosh..rabbit is so hard to take care, easily sick and die. I thought rabbits above 5 months old should be quite stable and much easy to take care, but my experience proved me otherwise. I am telling myself that if all my rabbits die, I really surrender and don't want to keep any more. |

Try to avoid veges and fruits with too much water content. Your rabbit will thrive with more fiber. Especially for young rabbits. Don't ever give too much of something right away. Give small amount to test out.
