Here are the steps to treat mites:
1) go to page 1 for vets listed 2) choose the vet nearest to you 3) tell them to check for mites 4) they will know what to do.... QUOTE(derrickchg @ Mar 26 2010, 12:10 AM) This post has been edited by sangterap: Mar 26 2010, 08:49 AM |

Are you using water bowl? Maybe it is a little too high for ur rabbit and therefore its fur under the chin is absorbing the water. Try lowering the bowl or try using a good water bottle instead...

by now, your rabbit should have his/her favorite spot to pee/poo. get a triangular "toilet" put in some Woody Pets bedding (2 handful) and put the toilet in its favorite corner. That will toilet train the little fellow....and the wood dust will keep the smell down. Good luck!

The setup is not that bad but do you know rabbits can be toilet trained? Right now, I am sure they have their favorite spots to pee. You will notice that a certain corner of your cage is always soiled with urine. Go buy a CORNER litter tray and put Woody Pet wood pellets in the litter tray. They will soon learn that is the toilet and you will have less smell because the wood pellets are good with odor control.
Good luck! QUOTE(alexong2184 @ Apr 22 2010, 08:26 PM) I just bought a pair of Rex rabbit, 1st i kept them in my bedroom but i found out the urine smell was very strong n stink, so now i kept them outside of my house. now i scare of the dog or something else attack or steal the rabbit. any 1 have any idea how to reduce the urine smell. or if i wan to kept them at outdoor, any pros here can teach me what should i do? my rabbit pic size is too big cant upload here dont know why if u all wan see my rabbit pic can go to the link here http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3993...id=379772473478 |

They normally will have a favorite spot especially when they reach maturity. Put the hay holder elsewhere and put the litter box over where u see them pee most of the time...

anep,
Keeping single rabbit is perfectly fine and it is highly recommended if you spend a lot of time with it. You need to get a cage quick. Putting them in a box is not suitable at all because the build up of urea smell will cause respiratory problems. As for toilet training, do as what sentol adviced.... good luck and welcome to the rabbit world. QUOTE(anep @ Apr 28 2010, 08:38 PM) hey, I just bought a baby angora hotot color from seller at mudah.. only took one..afraid to buy a pair coz i'm juz a newbie n want to try rabbit as a pet.. is there any cons keep one rather than a pair? i keep it in a modified box coz dont hv cage yet.. i make a hole at the box n when i'm in my room i open the hole n close it when i'm off to work.. after i get the cage how do i want to toilet train it? thanks |

That is a problem you have to solve. Rabbits need space. Putting 2 rabbits in one small cage is not the right way to go. Get a bigger cage if u want both of them to live together. I reckon that when they start maturing, you will have problems when those hormones start to be funky....

What could this be ?Is this normal ? i'm not sure of his breed but i think he's an adult dutch..erm something.I adopted him from rabbit ranch, few months ago. I'm thinking to bring him to vet for checkup but worrying of the consultancy fees.I have no experience visiting Vet. Can anyone tell me the estimation cost for normal checkup ? Those are indeed very interesting choice of food and water bowl.
Great advice.... QUOTE(lm_meileng @ May 4 2010, 09:22 AM) what a lovely rabbit u hv. do provide floor mat for yr bun in the cage so that his/her little feet will not develop sore hocks, for the drinking and eating bowl, preferably use those which can hang at the cage so that it would not be easily spill off....... |
