Wow ! So the credit limit can really be as high as RM1 Million  thumbup.gif
I believe those foreign banks have many such customers with such high credit line for their credit cards too especially Citibank, HSBC and Standard Chartered.
*
Yeap, they do, as for such people to spend above RM500K on a monthly basis is chicken feed drool.gif but for most ordinary people, I guess RM300K is the max we can aspire to tongue.gif

@tgeoklin,
Personally I don't know Y people aspire to want so much CL; I rather be aspiring other stuff such as getting my income to RM300k p/month tongue.gif
*
well, young people nowdays have different set of standards and who knows, maybe its just an ego trip? but getting an income of RM300K per month may not be that far off if our currency continues to plunge tongue.gif

tgeoklin, you cancelled it? i was told very few people in the country has this card. even those with personal FD at cimb of RM 5m gets turned down by the management when they requested for it! you assets with must be running in the eight figures then! smile.gif
*
Actually its just not enough that you have $ with them. You also need to have a track record for high spending, plus the most important thing is, their Senior Management need to know you.

Fyi, there are actually lots of people with FDs over a few million, but not all of them are active user of CCs. In fact I have an uncle with over RM10M in FDs but his CL with the bank concern is only a puny RM100K tongue.gif

All Customer Service lines also the same not only DA. The lines were all overloaded. I manage to get through DA yesterday morning when I called at 8am.

But the Questions the CS ask me to activate my card..hui-yoh...I also got problem answering them sweat.gif
*
Well, so far, SCB & HSBC lines does not seems to be affected. Been calling them for a few times in a day for the past 2 weeks or so and got thru to their people on first attempt even during office hours etc.

what is the best time to call maybank to confirm cc being cancelled?
Called them many times, some even wait for 11min still no body answer.

very fed up with their lousy cs.
*
Last I heard, MBB is very confident that most of its good CC customers will still be with them as their Management are of the view that only the kiasu & al-cheapo customers will cancel, thus no great loss to them. Further, these so called customers do not contribute much to their bottom line but yet are very demanding. So I guess, even if you cancelled they can't care less tongue.gif

To quote Malaysia's PM, its just RM50 only, so if even that also can't pay, definitely should not be allowed to hold any CC biggrin.gif

ic...another question, what's the different between normal cimb bank credit card and direct access? seems like 2 different products as shown in cimb website. another thing, i saw there's ACCA Malaysia sdn bhd direct access card. since i am pursuing acca, is the card for me?
*
Basically CIMB's generic cards has a wider base since its less restrictive in terms of membership. DA on the other hand is strictly for graduates & professionals, thus "denotes a perceived higher status" but in terms of benefits are no different from CIMB's generic offerings. The DA ACCA cards are meant for members of ACCA, not students, thus you will have to qualify first tongue.gif

Are you sure he spend RM3k but he got the price of camera? Then he is considered good luck ady  rclxms.gif  Actually the contest is like this:

Spend RM2500 - RM4999 the 1st 100 cardholders to send sms will get HP notebook, then the following cardholders will win a iPod Shuffle 2GB.

Spend RM5000 & above, the 1st 100 cardholders to send sms will get Sony TV, then the following cardholders will win a Sony DSC S-2100 camera.

So for your dad's case, he spent RM3k he supposed to be either Notebook or iPod category contest, but if he really get a Sony camera, it is either he spent another Rm2k which he didnt realized or he doesn't let u know  tongue.gif  or scb's mistake to put u in RM5k category contest.  biggrin.gif
*
I believe its just RM3K as per statement date but since the contest is based on physical months, chances are good that his dad made the RM5K level for that month. The bank is unlikely to make such a simple mistake. And yes, I got the gifts for both months so now saddled with 2 Sony Camera sad.gif

Anyone care to take them off my hand, feel free to pm me tongue.gif Retailing for RM499 at any Sony outlets etc. Cheers

HSBC visa plat doesn't have a dedicated helpline... all clients use the same general line.. why there is no dedicated line like other banks for the so call high class hsbc visa plat holder?

p.s : because he wants to have the most difficult to get, I mean really got standard punya platinum card.. thats why I come here to check around.
*
I would suggest he apply for the Amex Platinum Charge card. It is definitely a platinum card with "standard" tongue.gif

Hold on. Not all banks practice the same thing when it comes to installment / CL calculations.
My earlier answer applies to Citibank but I can't remember how does Maybank works. There are banks which will only fully released the CL once all payment is paid up.

The answer above is correct for Citibank at least. Slight correction to the above would be they would round the CL to the nearest ringgit.
*
RHB used to provide upto 50% of your CL for EPP and this does not affect your existing CL but the drawback was what you can effectively use for EPP is somewhat limited. However, with the rampant changes they been going thru, not sure if it's still applicable.
