Heard a lot of the AMEX Platinum with RM 800 annual fee, is it true that it cannot be waived?
*
Well, few people have got their AMEX Plat CC Annual Fee waived. If you do patronise the 10X MR outlets then this card is good else better off getting the AMEX Gold CC where you get 5X for petrol, groceries, books and Utilities Auto Debit. Anyway, you can try the AMEX Plat since 1st year fees will be waived.

for some reason i have no luck in getting the CC i want.

last time i apply for petronas maybank gold they rejected it 1st round and after a few months only approve. now i apply for amex gold also they reject.... sigh

is it because i pay on time and the bank cant make profit?
*
So what CC you got that you don't want?
I find it odd that you have MBB Petronas but can't get AMEX Gold CC from MBB since the credit limit will be shared. Did you submit proof showing your income meets their requirement?

just have mbb petronas copy as proof.

well unless your annual income is less than RM36K, you should not have problems getting a AMEX Gold CC since you got MBB Petronas.

Call this number 603-22958877, its their marketing department. Tell them you have a MBB Petronas and you applied for the AMEX Gold CC and was rejected. Asked them why was your application rejected and if you can apply again thru the person you talk too. If he say yes, ask for his full name, fax your application to MBB attention to the person and follow up after a week with the same person.

I have better luck in getting Maybank CS than DA CS.

DA CS is worse for me.

Since a lot of retail shops and online website only accept VISA and MasterCard for credit/debit card payment, I wonder what is so special for AMEX until many people want to apply?

Just asking.
*
Well, there's nothing special about AMEX as compared to Visa and Mastercard in general. As a matter in fact, Visa and MC is more widely accepted as compared to AMEX. The merchants don't care what card you have as long as the transaction can go thru.

Having said the above, AMEX Gold Credit Card does give you 5X reward points for Petrol, Groceries and Utilities which works out to be about 2.5% cash back. Go to AMEX site and check it out. If you dont spend much on petrol and groceries then you won't miss much.

Also, since November 2009, AMEX is giving 15% cash back at malls in Klang Valley which is something other cards can't beat but the cash back have a maximum payout of RM4 million.

just wan to check with all of u guys..

as example, today i swipe 1.3k for the total amount of the item. then at the next week i swipe again 1k for the other item.

is tis 2 amount can combine up n ask bank for the 0% installment plan??
*
Don't think you can combine the two different transactions. Also do note, for the first transaction, if you ask for 0% installment after the Statement Date, the bank may not be able to entertain it.
