Bro, sorry if I am the one that made you started to notices all of those... I am reading on the links i given up there. Looks like if I am staying with the Forte.. I will be doing something like those.. and IF the price is within my budget.. i would do the full package to make the Forte into a Continental feels in it.
From their page : http://www.autofoam.com.my/autofoam/index....id=72&Itemid=88
* They quoted would not void warranty.. but I am a bit skeptical on those especially is words from them.. not from the Car's manufacturer since we are the one that facing problems when claiming for warranty.
*
Hi Bro, thanks a lot for the info ... actually the soundproof for other areas of Forte is good enough just the tyre wall or wheel aches, so Yang Package (RM450) looks attractive and might solve the hollow tyre sound and I dont think it will void the warranty cos only the wheel arches and nothing need to be dismantled smile.gif

"2) YANG (soft) Package.
The next step is to apply our fantastic Roar Killer package on all 4 wheel arches. Roar Killer is the MOST effective solution to reduce the complex Tire, Road and Engine roar.
Rave reviews from our Honda Civic club boys with some claiming up to 60% improvement even with ultra high performance sports tires..
Treats all 4 wheel arches. "

BTW, anyone tried it before?

the bodykit is not yet launch in Malaysia i guess.
but i did saw the flyer shown by Puchong SA.

basically the bodykit is different from SG as SG one is lower.
it include side skirt, rear skirt, and bumper skirt (is this what you call)?

they have other parts like shark fin antenna, emergency kit, hood engine cover (for EX i guess as SX already have), tinting, door visor, and one or two other things that i could not recall.
i've ask puchong and according to the technician, its like that. only shown for 6 seconds. previous kia car have the beep sound if you're not wearing sealtbelt. but not for newer car release. thats what was being told to me.

SHARK FIN ANTENNA!!! shocking.gif ... thats really cool ... any idea how much does it cost including installation? biggrin.gif

I don't know why.. it made me felt like similar scenario will surfaces when there are problem on warranty.. calling carelines.. Agent A will tell one story, Agent B will tell another story.. then SC 1 will practice this.. and SC 2 will practice that.

I knew that is not the problem of the car or probably not even is Kia's problem but the Naza problem ( which if i moved to the other brand also is under Naza )

Buying car suppose to be fun, exciting.. with something looking forward to.. but all these while is only frustration. Maybe a hint on it is not the car for me  after all.

envy those that got their 1.6 on the road.. enjoying their new partners.
*
Hi Bro, even i already got my 1.6 ... the process of getting it and dealing with the unprofessional people from NAZA Sales Branch were really frustrated ... I shared the same feeling ... buying car suppose to be fun and exciting, but ended up with disappointment and frustration before getting my Forte ... really "leaves you speechless" at times ... mad.gif

Bro, the wheel cap is the black or silver colour? If it is the original Forte wheel cap (silver) and can get better price than my supplier, might as well we join your group buy, can save some $ for other poisons tongue.gif

Talking about deffect ... I experience the following major problem yesterday after work and this morning rclxub.gif

When i went in the car, closed the door and stepped on the break and pressed the start button, all the electronics were cut off. No horn, headlights, meters/LCD ... all not working, like the battery is out and the engine won't start shocking.gif

I try to slot the remote in the slot below the start button, and it didn't work. I opened the door and closed it (seems like the eletronics came back whenever i opened and closed the door) and tried to start a few times (its like when the car doesn't have enough battery, it starts half way and die off) and finally got it started after 4 - 5 times. When my car finally started, the time and radio channels that i have set are all gone mad.gif ... it is impossible that the battery is out cos my car is so new and i set auto headlight (the light will auto turn off when i off the engine) ... anyone experience the same problem or have any idea what went wrong?

2 times straight? that's a bad one!
sounds like the smart key didn't communicate / line up well with the electronics in the car.

btw i don't use the auto headlight function. tried it once, but it came on quite early. it was drizzling tat time but all other cars around me didn't switch on their head lights so eventually i turned off the lights manually smile.gif
*
Initially i thought that the smart key cannot be detected ... but that wouldn't cause the time and radio channel to reset itself to default right ... a bit weird the problem that i experienced sad.gif

4te,

So sad to see this happened.. you must be very disappointed when these happen especially if someone actually there and say "See, i told you don't buy Korean car". I suggest you to visit the SC immediately and request them to run diagnostic for you ( if they are such thing ). Hopefully the clever designer has a built in fault / error logging mechanism to track what had happened which are stored different from the main battery powered ( Normally that would be on button cell powered NVRam ).

Or at least have them check for the battery's condition.

guess you are very down seeing what happening and for the next few days or weeks, you are keeping your finger cross that you car will starts every time you starting it.. sien. a new phobia with the new car after this.

And don't forget to updates this to the myForte problem discussion and also post this to KM FB.. ( if you don't mind telling people what you experienced.. as it is kind of shame to experience that )
*
Yesterday after work, i was walking with a colleague who drives Civic and he commented that "wow, your kia looks very nice hor" ... and then cannot start, really potong stim ler cry.gif

Ok, i think i will post my problem in KM FB later today.

Hi, There

just to check if you on your fog light too.. to my test, our forte fog lights doesnot seems integrated to main system esp main key cut off (mine dun have push button!!!  cry.gif ) and just to verify to if my comes with maintenance free batts too? i.e. if i keep fog light on with main light, when remove key, the fog light will still on!, but main lights off...rclxub.gif  this leads to batt drain if you are not careful...

just my 2 cents..
*
Hi bro, thanks for your input, i am very sure the fog light is off ... wondering how come the time and radio just auto set to default hmm.gif

Yup its using the maintenance free battery.

Anyone interested in getting the original KIA Forte wheel cap (as shown in the attached photo and a set of 4 pieces) to replace the Black NAZA wheel cap? I have managed to negotiate for a lower price if we buy 10 sets or more:

Less than 10 sets: RM145

The price above is COD and please add RM6 for PosLaju.

Those interested:
1. 4te
2. lingwu
3. blitzdotcom

This goup buy will end on 6th Jan 2010.
Just a quick update, we have a total of 6 sets,

Lowyat - 2
Forte Malaysia - 2
Facebook - 1
4te - 1

Those interested, please join our group buy and once we hit 10 sets, i will do my level best to push the price even lower rclxms.gif

Thanks guys and Bro Lee for offering ur help with the multimeter, I will go to SC tomorrow morning (hopefully I can start my car then) ... just now after work, i thought since the engine can be started, should be no problem and can wait till Saturday, but now u guys are right, better go tmr morning. I am not going to scold the SC cos definitely not their fault but going to call up careline for sure mad.gif

Imagine this, my manager was asking me "... sure you want to get another Kia ah?" ... tmr when i tell him that i am taking half day off to fix my new Kia, he sure says "see blah blah blah ..." sigh ... was telling a lot of people that Forte is a good car and value for money ... i will feel like slapping myself tmr when i see them doh.gif

I have just found out the emails of Kia Korea, if the SC cannot fix this problem tmr, I am going to email NAZA and Kia Korea for sure vmad.gif

Went to KIA JnS SC (Sungai Pinang) first thing in the morning and i was so relief that it was just the battery connector (negative) loose that was causing the problem. The service at JnS was really good (as recommended by many in Penang) and the boss (Steven) greeted me and had a chat with Lee and I. I actually sms Steven last night around 10PM to ask about the office hour and surprisingly he called back and asked me not to jump start if the battery isn't working the next day (i noted this in the user manual as well, NEVER jump start a Forte). The service provided by JnS SC is among the best if not THE BEST in Penang rclxms.gif

Very nice meeting you Brother Lee and your wife biggrin.gif

I decided to give Kia a chance but they abandon me and I gave up on them today and canceled my booking.
For those looking for Forte 1.6. Naza-Kia has updated their price list to have 3 models for 1.6 now. Prices below are OTR

- 1.6EX : 75,800.00
- 1.6SX : 81,800.00
- 1.6SX-D : 86,800.00

The 1.6EX and 1.6SX are as what we seen last time..

1.6SX-D ( I am guessing - D = Deluxe ) On the price list, stating Accessories Package

1) Leather Seat
2) Door Protector Visor
3) " Exclusive Stylish Aeroparts "
( Front, Rear, Side Skirting & Rear Spoiler )
Now, I started to heard some current 1.6SX cursing that they got the car earlier.
*
I wont curse cos I dont like bodykit and am trying to avoid leather seat ... the door visor doesn't justify for the RM5k price difference ... well thats just me smile.gif ... But if they thow in the shartfin antenna and electronic foldable side mirror, then i will be cursing big time biggrin.gif

good to hear your problem solved, why there is loose battery connection, Naza fault or Kia foult. my front number plate fall the other day, this is the lousy job from Naza, some admirer when see my car and noted the no plate fall, really shame on Naza.
*
Its NAZA's fault ... cos they remove the connector when parking the car at the store area as not to drain the battery. But my SA/NAZA is supposed to put that back and tighten it, but they didnt tighten it, it was really loose at the SC this morning vmad.gif

My front number plate fell off also ... my Sa used 3 small double side tape to stick the big font plate, no wonder it fell off. again SA/NAZA's fault.

As per my expect.... this is the Naza fault, when your car arrival in the showroom, they will unplug the battery, when u collect the car they just plug in the connector..... sometime they not tighten the screw and make this happend, just same as my Toyota previously..... so for the one who already collect the car, better check your battery connector
*
You u r right ... Please put a note on Page 1 in bold and red ... cos its really dangerous, imagine if u r driving and suddenly the connector disconnected and cut-off all power!!!
