QUOTE(htkaki @ Mar 6 2010, 10:00 PM)
Nice meeting you too.

Can I charge RM8  tongue.gif ? It is not at its best yet. Once the MTS-01 is back and after I managed to solve the room acoustic issue, it would be a whole better than now smile.gif

izmel_s came too with his Metallica BD. He is very impressed. He won't be watching it at his home tonight too  sweat.gif
*
I think charging RM8 is still very worthwhile to watch the entire movie at htkaki showroom rather than paying something like RM10 for cinema crap SQ. thumbup.gif

Imagine no other disturbance like hp ringing, ppl laughing noises, no advertisements, seating position not ideal so on in the cineplex for that matter, not to mention all the true-audio equipped & monster svs sub in the showroom........... icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on March 7, 2010, 12:52 pmThe only setback is.....obviously left a hole in the pocket sooner as the chances of getting posioned are pretty high.

That's a long crack that you have there sweat.gif

I never quite like plaster ceiling as it tends to vibrate easily. Mine is normal wood ceiling. My Ultra did once 'knock' down a photo frame out of the bookcase behind listening area.
*
Htkaki, do you think a subdude beneath the sub can help it tighten up the bass a little more?? Are we able to audition that with & without?

I have a energy saving downlight right above the sub.  During those low vibration time, I can see the downlight vibrating up and down.

*
Wow, seems like your downlight is enjoying the low bass & is dancing to the tune rclxms.gif

Any other svs owners who have more to share about the impact it cause to the surroundings.....I think it is pretty interesting to read.

the subdude is not a remedy, it is meant to isolate yr subwoofer for "better" (debateable) bass production.

i have plaster ceiling at my tv area. there is a trapdoor that wud vibrate when certain sub frequencies are reached. i just take down the trapdoor, stick on some wool along all the contact points, replace it back to the ceiling, the vibration is eliminated.
*
Any pic to show huh?

I dun think our typical bolehland house is designed to withstand low freq wave & with plaster ceiling installed making things even worse especially you have these monster cylinders or boxes sitting inside the house & pound the surrounding like no other biz. tongue.gif

BTW, SVS mentions that cylinder type is their traditional way of making a sub....is that true?

Customer Review: By Ed Mullen, SVS PC12-Plus

Quote: "At reference levels, and if the source material calls for it - this sub effortlessly provides vision blurring, teeth rattling, couch moving, guts turn to Jell-O, pants waffling, stuff falls off the shelves upstairs, call the fire department - REAL DEAL ULTRA LOW INCREDIBLY POWERFUL BASS."

So exciting huh...... sweat.gif

I wonder PC-12NSD has the similar impact too? cool2.gif

The countdown to arrival of NSDs should be another 10 days from now. Each day counting....

Keeping my fingers crossed that htkaki can do some magic at least to our beloved katam.......... rclxms.gif

Please do so before the birth of the SB series in bolehland notworthy.gif

Bro, sorry to break your heart. It ain't going to be in 10 days time. I am waiting for confirmation. If it eta within 2 weeks, I need abt a week to get in due to procedures at Custom. Never do any magic.

sad.gif cry.gif

BTW, has the stock taken-off at Ohio?

After custom clearance, the date should be around 25th or so. Hopefully can get on 27-April as it is very special day for me tongue.gif

Still too small to pose any serious threat to the big players in the market.

Slowly but surely the biz is penetrating bolehland puny market until running out of stock. If its performance is solid, expect more orders here biggrin.gif

Yup, its true.
I myself are planning to get a subwoofer and it so happens that my budget is sub 3k  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Then faster place order with htkaki, put in deposit first to secure your unit later, or else will snap up like potato chips.

I also agreed that price range below 3k is the real competition. So many good sub manufacturers are targetting this segment of the market. If SVS is planning to tab this lower end segment, I am pretty sure it will pose serious threat to all its rivals.

Congrat. on your flourish biz thumbup.gif

2 PB 13-Ultra, 1 PB 12-Plus, 2 PC12-Plus.......Wahlau, a total 5 units sold within a short week. Guess more than half a dozen on reserved list of NSD too.

The most important part is 1 unit exporting 'oversea' with ZERO exposure to foreign currency risk tongue.gif . Biz is expanding its wing...

I wonder how can he handles after the birth of the SB series by end of May. Maybe he needs to open "branch" to cater for the rapid growth in turnover. Maybe divided into regions like Sabah, S'wak, North & South regions.

I think that with the CC facility available, it is certainly a big plus to the biz sales. More ppl will come to get the products.

Anyway the below pics showing PC13-ultra has been slaughtered by its owner. Great pic. Reminds me of one of our forumer here....

Since requested I will share some initial feel & couple of pics.

Htkaki said yesterday GD Express picked up at 4pm & today they delivered at exact 12noon. thumbup.gif
Only 1 courier guy handles this beast. He was curious to ask me what the hell is this 40kg box contains tongue.gif

Basically just hook it up with my Denon 3310 using QED Y-Splitter, straight using 1 port blocked, Subsonic at 16hz, freq crossover all disable, gain at 10 o'clock.

Havent done Audyssey set-up, guess leave it to tomorrow. AVR sub gain 3db higher than main with LFE 80hz. Throw in my fav David Foster BD concert & play track Wildflower by Blake Shelton, when the bass kicks in aftter a few lines I can feel immediate low deep bass inside my hall. Mind that I am running it "cool" in very moderate level. Next jump track to Feeling Good by Michael Buble. This song has bass attack. I am prepared for it & this beast won't let me down. True to its means, it pumps tight and low to my disbelief. Then, Michael Jackson This is It. This time playing mkv with DTS only, the billie jeans bass takes me by surprise. Pumps deep without covering MJ's voice & his other instruments. Maybe this is what SVS claims one can expect to hear something never heard before & will not hear something not supposed to hear. The usual boomy sound is gone and replaced by clean low bass. I think this is good as the boomy sound can always distort the mid-range freq.

Try short movies like Dark Knight, the first glass smashed at the building shocked me. The refile gun fires with impact that you can feel. Havent tried out the Goham Hospital exploded scene, I bet it can literally shake my room. But so far, I have not allowed this beast to take control my hall just yet. Nevertheless I can still feel the sudden surge of power it can output when calls upon. The jets taking off at start of Top Gun sounds real & I can feel it is ready & waiting my permission whether to go ahead to shake the hall. I pour "cold" water & the beast is like mad.gif

From now, I will learn to get use to this deep LFE sound. I mean to feel rather than hear as I set it to 16hz. Like htkaki said, it is hard to describe in words to feel the bass. Believe it will sound smoother after run-in period.

Only 2 drawbacks I found so far:

1) If not careful, it can easily overpower or cover up the rest of your speakers.
2) It is like a monster sitting there.

Congrats n welcome to SVS bro mikapoh.  rclxms.gif
May I know what main n center speaker u r using.
*
I am using Mordaunt-Short Avant 905ci & 906i. After running Audyssey set-up, this time my MS speakers can keep up the pace if aren't running svs hot.

I think setting it low to 16hz can really blends well with its immediate members. Suddenly all of front & surround have enuf omph when comes to action. I know this can sacrifice some of the output in mid low freq but this monster can still kick some serious ass when it feels like to.....

mikapoh, pls try out the Die Hard 4.0's tunnel scene and also Terminator Salvation's 7 Eleven scene. Then, try some other concert BDs.
*
Oh yes, will give Die Hard 4 tunnel scene a spin. I am sure towards the end where the jet flying low with its rumbling engines effect. Even my earlier MS Sub can feel the bass...I wonder this beast can sound how much realistic hmm.gif

Tested out Pearl Harbor bombing scene, and in the end watched the entire movie. From the moment jap first torpedo hit the war ship, every explosion is delivered with stunning depth. Planes engines rumbles and spin around my entire hall in every direction with enuf weight.

Htkaki, I am wondering are your front L/R speakers channel levels set the highest. Audyssey & SPL meter tells my front has to increase by 4db than the rest using test tone. But i have seen many set their centre channel higher than the front.

guys, do you leave your SVS Sub switch "on" all the time or put it in on Auto mode? I leave it ON always but worry that it might actually shorten the amp lifespan eventhough I dun watch movie everyday.

Would like your input on this.

Ok, then I guess I will follow sifu htkaki suggestion, leaving it on auto mode from tonite.

Speaking about lighting strike, all my gears power cords are routed to Belkin Power surge. But, I still have my astro decoder video & audio rca connects to my AVR. If the lighting hits my astro dish, will the high current damage my AVR by passing thru those rca ??

Now a bit worried.
