Malaysia HWBot Super Pi 32M Online Challenge
Just 2 months back, clon22, currently the Top Ranking OverClocker of Singapore organized the Team Group's Singapore Online Super Pi 32M Challenge to promote the local OverClocking Community. As the Malaysia OverClocking Community is deteriorating day by day, maybe it's time for a simple challenge to heat things up once again.

As this is a very small-scale community OverClocking Challenge, we decided not to involve any sponsors so that everyone can participate regardless of what brand of Mainboard or Memory used. We feel that this is the best way to promote local OverClocking Community. So how do we come out with the prizes? Same as our previous approach, once again we would make use of review samples and prizes won from various competitions. It's better this way than selling it in garage sales. We hope that the prizes come second to the fun of OverClocking.

nice effort there beast, crank it up... let us see what is the score like with 3.6GHz as your score is not really far away from xixo.

antonio: this compy is capped at 3.6GHz. you can only clock until 3.6GHz. so it's basically a tweaking competition which is really lacking in Msia OC Community. hehe...

xixo_12: err... i need 4 CPU-Z information tabs
beast921, hilmiangah and OC4/3 : nice, score added
kilowatt: i'm still considering whether to include i5/i7 or not. i'll do if the demand is there. and also need to find an extra prize. lol
sup3rfly: hehe... need CPU-Z 1.52 and 4 information tabs. so all old SS i guess won't be accepted.

nice nice, keep it coming. just a side tip, fresh OS installation and disabling services may help you all get faster timings.
There's actually plenty of tweaks for Super PI 32M, do make use the power of google and discover the fun of tweaking this benchmark.

Attention: The current submission method may be changed during midway of the competition for better validation. Do take note.

shawnlut: hey man, you are running 4 x 2G setting?
ah_khoo: yes, killing explorer.exe helps. btw, if anyone got time... maybe can check this out. killing explorer.exe vs explorer in Low Priority (via task manager). my previous tweaked OS is faster if set Low Priority than killing it off. but my new one is faster by killing it off. And 99% oc-ers kill it than using the Low Priority method. test test...
user85: you missed one CPU-Z screen, lol. re-run so i can update your score.

ah_khoo: Yes correct, that's one of the basic tweaks. and also the affinity tweak but here i guess the effect for affinity tweak is minimal cause it's 3.6GHz. setting priority to high/real time effect is almost the same (at least to me). and iirc, setting real time will cause more instability than high priority. or the other way round.

Updated the Submission Guidelines, do take note. Within this week there maybe a little tweaking on the rules and submission guidelines. Please bear with me.

what is holding me back from including i5/i7 is that x58 is a lot faster than p55. during the compy organised by our fellow friend, clon22 (link in 1st post) ... even x58 with dual channel mode is kinda faster 3-4 seconds at least. so if i7/i5 ocers wants to play, it's best to seperate x58 and p55 into different categories. but.... i got limited prizes, and even i managed to find any, it would be even lower end items, lol.

anyway, any other ideas to include i7/i5? honestly, the more the merrier. i got no issue to include. let me discuss with coolice and gang see we still got any prizes/review hardware that can be used as prizes.

shawnlut: sad, you are over the limit of 9MHz of 3.6GHz. re-run with the correct clockspeed. hehe... btw, i'm really interested to know whether 8GB is helping to pull off better speed or not. maybe you can test with 4GB run vs 8GB run see the difference alot or not. in X58, 3 x 2GB is faster than 2 x 2G in 32M.

uzer85: yes, XP and Server 2003 is faster in Super PI while Vista/7 is faster in certain 3DMarks.

let's put it this way, if your 4GB can achieve higher freq.. it maybe faster than 8GB with lower freq. just you need to see which one benefits the most.

good luck. and let us know what your findings. GG

pws: did you apply some tweak that has to do with resolution or windows size?

fuzore: your clockspeed exceed the 9MHz. hehe... cannot include

nice guys, i can feel the heat now. but all kinda normal tweak. still waiting for those with 'higher end' tweaking scores to show up. hehe... for intel c2d i believe 12m is achievable.

uzer85: if fully tweak the score should be faster. did you use 'best performance' setting where all the visual off? don't do that, use luna blue/silver. it's faster. and pi can run with only 3 services on. google google....

uzer85: if we got extra prizes sure you will get one for most effort. really solute you. i'm working out something this sunday. Monday we will know is there any extra categories (i7/i5) and also effort prize. btw, can try different divider for highest ram freq?

syazone: ok noted, i'll edit accordingly. dota 1st. hehe..
