Actually the Beban Negara govt does not want banks to absorb as most foreign banks are willing to do so, which would kill off their cronies namely MBB, CIMB etc as if the govt link banks were to absorbed, its akin to the govt screwing themselves, goes to shows how they never think things thru

But they also can't control promotions offers like swipe 3 times & win 10000 points which you can then use to offset the RM50 without killing off the whole industry, so they are now caught by their own stupidity
