For that price you can get something like this already:
15.6"
Dell Inspiron 15R (Special Edition), i7-3612QM + AMD HD7730M@RM2999, 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm); backlit keyboard optional
*FullHD screen option is coming up soon

and even the older
Hp dv6-6c19TX, i7-2670QM + AMD HD7690M XT@RM3099[Beats], 4GB, 750GB (5400rpm)

All these perform better (especially in terms of gaming perforamnce)... and with the remaining money, can extend warranty to 3 years summore laugh.gif

Although Toshiba laptops are more expensive compare to other brand.
Toshiba laptops are know to have higher energy efficiency
That means consume less electricity, longer battery life and produce less heat.

A lot of other brands are also EnergyStar certified hmm.gif
It all depends on the battery capacity (for battery life) and specifications (more powerful components = more heat)

Anyone knows in which year the models below are launched? Will there be any new models replacing the ones below by end of this year?

Lastly, which keyboard has a more tactile good feel, the glossy flat keyboard of the L745 or the illuminated(nice) tiled keyboard of the E300 and P745?

1) L745 (RM1599-RM1799)
2) E300 (RM2599)
3) P745 (RM2699-RM3299)

Can i find out from Toshiba owners if Toshiba Satellite P850-1000X comes with mSata slot. Paper spec says it support up till 16gb memory, but I can't find mention of how many RAM slots. Any P850 owners would help to explain?

Just want to share...

Just buy Toshiba laptop last week ...
Toshiba Satellite M840
IntelĀ® Core i7-3612QM (2.1GHz) w/ Turbo Boost up to 3.1Ghz ( Ivy Bridge )
4GB DDR3 RAM ( Up to 16384MB ) (already upgrade to 8gb)
750GB HDD
AMD Radeon HD 7670M w/ 2GB
Ultra Slim DVD SuperMulti DriveToshiba
Win 7 home premium
1 year warranty + RM299 for another 2 years warranty
MSOffice starter (already removed & installed full version)

Problem - audio output is really bad when using earphone/headphone.
Need to disable something at sound properties then ok (after read user review at other website)

Play Movie - not satisfied on video output - still find the solution.

Button for : Wifi/Bluetooth, adjust volume, adjust screen brightness, Output to projector.... share with key F1 to F12.
Sometime got confuse (maybe first time use)

USB port: 3 port only, 2 for 3.0 & 1 for 2.0. Not enough to cover, Cooling fan, mouse, external Hardisk, broadband etc..
Solution: get another extension port.

Me bought the Satellite P775-S7160 17.3" LED Notebook,
LCD Features: LED backlight & TruBrite technology 1600x900 resolution
Intel Core i7-2670QM 2.2 GHz, 2nd generation
6GB DDR3, 750GB HDD,
DVD SuperMulti,
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M,
802.11 b/g/n,
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

This is an American set, and it is a new set (still sealed inside the box when I bought it).
I bought it from someone in KL.

I once accidently drop the laptop onto the floor, I thought the DVD drive is going spoiled.
Switch on the laptop and check, everything is still working perfectly well.

Teledynamics handles servicing of Toshiba laptops, there are two branches currently afaik, one at Shah Alam, the other at LYP top floor nod.gif
The battery should be covered, though you might wanna check with Teledynamics 1st before heading there nod.gif

the customer service for Toshiba has always been top notch- the people there are very friendly and professional (the girls there are hot tongue.gif)
However, the repair time is just like that of other manufacturers- up to two months time depending on severity of the problem as well as part availabilities hmm.gif
