unless they change the signal type, even 1 meter solid dish will hv the problem.

Nevertheless , I want to ask you. Is it a must to replace the coax cables , i mean its the same RB6 cables right ?

Secondly I want to ask you this. Can it support 2 simultaneous  output like my current Nokia Setupbox whereby I can output S-video to my TV and feed rca cables to my computer. I've my HTPC setup to automatically record certain programmes or if i am browising the net via my HTPC and If i want to tune into astro without the need of switching channels or getting the remote

I am just asking for HDMI out for my TV and just normal connectors out support at the same time for my PC. I understand that it wouldn't work with hD channels cause my tuner does not do HD. Thats fine with me , I just want recording for SD shows only !

Only component can view HD. Composite is impossible.

Look you can revert back to RCA , that way it always works. Sure its not the best quality but if you're recording and wanna view back later its okay. Its not like you want to record every fine detail. For me , when i record drama/sit-com or some important event , i just wanna watch. I dont care much about the quality anyway

RCA always work. If not double check to see your recorder has component or not.

1080p requires a huge bandwidth compared to 1080i/720p , think of an economist's point of view instead of an engineer's point of view - it would be pretty expensive to get the cables , equipment and other stuff. Its just a matter of time , in the world currently the preferred broadcast is 720p for sports and 1080i for other shows and stuff

The good news is that SPORTS channel is finally getting progressive scan. Meaning that motion should rapid and it should be pretty good ;P

what i know HDMI 1.0 or HDMI 1.3  ABLE 2 support  HD video....but hdmi 1.0 not support HD audio [ DD TrueHD ]

called astro this morning to subscribe and by 6 pm they called back that I am confirmed for installation.

An installer would call me up tomorrow for an appointment. talk bout fast...

sweet...guess have to replace the 32 incher with a fullhd 42 incher to get 3x hdmi input

like this, some forumer here said that mayb astro byond will using HDMI ver 1.3...
but my HDTV just support HDMI type A (i think HDMI 1.0..not sure la)...
but my Samsung DVD Player (also donno what  it's HDMI ver) can be used with my HDTV... produces a good picture... even upscaling...
maybe different system...

and i'm using Panasonic TX-32LE8MK LCD TV... bought about June this year... for a really2 expensive price (for me la...  )... RM1700 somethings..

Hi bro, where do you get the source that the fee chargeable from april onwards?

i got my B.yond today . kudos astro very fast service .  i subscribe yesterday ,  confirm yesterday , and installation today

i just call the installer which  he intalled my max before, he take my full name and ic no...will checking with their centre and will make intallation 2moro if my name are there....wait and see!!

got it this afternoon

- the HD channels are really clear and crisp
- toggled between 720p and 1080i. no noticeable difference. prolly my eyes can't tell the difference :S
- the quality for SD channels is same as before
- did not do rewiring. using existing wires
- the decoder works so much faster. eg, the response after punching the channel number, info, etc
- BUT the duration for punching the channel number is so short. similar to last time where people complain about not having enough time to punch in the 3 digits
