i have watching Astro B.yond for several hours,
i do not see any code appear on the screen,
but the 'info bar' appeared on 1am just now,
i wonder is it a technician problem,
or Astro set to appear hourly?

they have enhanced the quality of SD channel by b.yond decoder,
for me is much better.

but i also hope to have more HD channel,
especially chinese channel..

it is because we can watch HD quality on their channel, i think this is the difference, if not why we only need to pay RM20 for the HD subscription fee but not depend on the channel amount?

i also have to adjust level 30 to watch the shows, but i feel the sound quality of HD channel is quite nice, same volume level as SD channel but i can get more better sound quality. my tv supports SRS TruSurround HD, is it have related with the HD channel's sound quality?


maybe because chinese subscriber is not their main income...

i also watch the b.yond tvc just now,
with a submarine,
but do not talk much on the tvc,
for the people who do not know this service,
sure don know what is this..

but still supported component and composite output.

if u have 2 decoder,
i think it is depending on how many HD subscription u get,
if only either one,
sure only pay for one,
not two..

if u r not getting same movie on HBO and HBO HD,
maybe the fee u pay is not RM20 but over than it,
maybe purpose of HBO HD launched just for the subscribers with HD TV and decoder,
not a all new and different channel for us with HD decoder only..

if u wan 2 set ur remote control to adjust ur tv volume,
u have to do some setting,
please read your user guide for the instruction and your tv code.

i don know is it work on hifi or only tv...

i think u r their very very very loyal customer...

i think of a question:
sometimes when i am switching the channel,
the new channel will only appear black screen,
but have sound,
after i switch to previous channel and get back,
the picture come out,
may i know why is it?
anybody is facing this problem too?

haha, i am only the third customer the installer installed astro b.yond on last friday and my mother told me the guy done within 1 hour...

is it u need to do any setting while u use ur home theater system as audio input? as i know have a function on 'sound setting' to choose which audio system u use on lcd tv menu, but i don know is it for the situation like u..

luckily i have got my astro b.yond decoder d,
if really out of stock,
i do not know how long i have to wait for..

maybe he tried to skip the progress of change the cable in between dish and decoder(i also don know what is the name),
and he force to change it when u cannot get the signal via hdmi cable...

i just do not follow the thread few hours,
and the pages will have extra 5 pages when i read the thread,

as i know,
ds-830 have few version,
either ds-830n/ds-830p etc...

what i can tell u is:
no 1 from the website is the decoder that astro using now.

i am sure the model name from astro b.yond is ds-830,
but i don know why we cant get the information from their website..

or it is the exclusive decoder for astro b.yond from pace?

i think u can get the symbol on ur tv panel like 'HD Ready'...

HBO HD do not provide subtitle,
i have tried on same movie from HBO and HBO HD,
only HBO have subtitle to choose..

i just told my parent,
we need to pay extra RM20 per month,
but we can get much better quality while we are watching astro on lcd tv,
and then my mother just asked me,
it is not because of the tv?

and now,
we are watching astro via astro b.yond.

nevermind, now we can know the difference d,
just they are not really used to use b.yond decoder,
sometimes need to press 'power' button sometimes no,
but now while we are watching National Geographic HD,
we can see clearly the animals inside,
and do not need to watch SD channel with very low quality,
even worst than the quality of RMVB player..
