Hye..guys... previously Im using xbox360 pro " Falcon made" and its not unmodded.. but after dying on 3 times ring of death..I throw and I buy new one Xbox360 arcade edition "Jasper" ..so I keep thinking in my mind it is safe I go online? will I got banned?

my question is

1. It is safe I play online and Im using my original games.."I dun own pirated"

2. It is safe if just browse the Xbox360 content on the internet such like using media center?

3. Did my xbox live ID would get banned

4. If I register new one Xboxlive ID , did microsoft my xbox360 jasper modded?

damn... yeah,,,I cannot find unmodded jasper... so I buy modded one... so how?

I was also in the same situation (can't find unmodded ones)... I waited and waited and eventually found one from a local seller.

Anyway I believe once the console in modded, the next time Microsoft checks, your console will be banned from Live. Meanwhile, you still can browse and play Live. Just enjoy while you can

you should ask around and not buying implusively on modded console.
You've invested on a wrong thing.

Shops like GH do sell original and even if you can't get it, you can still go to singapore to buy one.

Once mod is detected it'll be banned. it's not about you're using original or not, it's about detection of the console by a way a physical reading on the modded console is slightly different from originals.

Don't even try to ask what is the different. there's no answer available outside of Microsoft.

so..If I go online now... It safe rite?... Microsoft would ban my xbox360 modded if I do what?

Why not sell the modded one and get a unmodded one... maybe lose a couple of hundred but imo its worth it.

May I also suggest that next time, ask the important questions before purchasing.

Just play offline, there's nothing wrong with it

Its not safe to go online. But enjoy it while it last.

After you have experienced it, you may then want to get another unmodded console.

i dunno how MS detect the modded or ahem games, sharing my experience here

but for my case, my first zephyr set is modded also, but also play original only

my 2 months trial of gold account (2 diff account) is working fine, after online for many many moons until now

now have upgraded to jasper set (also modded) few weeks back, still online daily to download DLCs, demos, trailers and such, still ok today

hrm... its hard to find unmodded console..really..damn hard... yeah...i should ask..hrm...

no ban hammer for me, unti now... playing originals only

actually i dont see how difficult is it to get an unmodded set, if you ask those modded seller for an unmodded set, they would tell you u had to wait for 1-2 weeks for an unmod set, so why not wait?

even in this forum you could find min of 4 ppl selling unmodded set.

there is no point in getting an modded set to play originals only, its like installing turbo on a car, but you always shift gear before 3000rpm (b4 turbo kick off) lol if you get what i mean .

1a Modded : Play Original = Will be banned if caught
1b Modded : Play Original + Online = Will be banned eventually.

2a Modded & Browse content = Banned too, eventually
2b Modded & Download demo or video = Banned too, eventually

3a Depends if your xbox downloads the update released on 20th October 2009, which is probably going to be downloaded into your console the first time u plug it in to Live.
3b Yes if you have downloaded the update. Some people has escaped Gamertag ID ban by having 2 gamertags on console. The ban results in gamertag id ban, save games crippled, install hdd removed, watching video disabled. Many more unknown. Carrying these items to an unbanned console would restore some features Gamertag recovery is neccesary then

4a Connecting to Live already tells MS your serial, which also allows it to know its Jasper.
4b. Yes they know immediately.

Conclusion :

You will be banned regardless of what you do. Trust a person who has read 250 pages of modding the xbox
It doesnt matter whether you play your games earlier than release date
It doesnt matter whether you play your games after release date
It doesnt matter whether you play original or pirated
It doesnt matter whether you installed to hdd or not

Fact is real that MS knows you modded and what ever original you try 2 do after that just flags you, making you wait for a ban to be sent down to your console.

When you are modded, just connecting to MS servers would treat u as unmodded console... until they decide to check it throughly.. MS are very confident ppl when they ban and when they have found enough evidence. They dont revert their ban hammers for anything. Small groups of ppl however has managed to find a loop hole to their ban hammer.. I wouldnt share about that.

Yes, it is unavoidable. As long as you have connected to Live with it, MS knows you are out there and would probably just flag it for banning, this year or the next.. Some sooner, some later..

Basically my understanding is the ban is actually a system update which disabled and work the way it was programmed on the system update.

So brace yourself if u see some stupid update is coming through....

Xbox360..just like a windows Version..so I think they would ban my xbox..if I Update a pirated games.. " I don't own pirated"

just would like to add1 more thing. NEVER try to plug in another healthy hdd into a banned console because the moment you plug in that healthy hdd it will immediately corrupt everything inside the hdd. once the console is banned no matter you are connected to LIVE or not it will still corrupt any healthy hdd. i found out about this during my fieldwork and lost all my precious data.
