Not sure how to start this but here goes...

Anyone here contracted TAT Construction (that used have a showroom in B1-1-6) for renovation in MF? I would like to share my predicament here.

I've engaged Mr. Oh (from TAT Construction) to renovate a unit in MF that belongs to a relative of mine, signed up for a package and paid a 40% down payment on the very same day (4-Nov-2013) for the work which he said will be completed by month end.

Big mistake! Till the end of Dec, only lights were installed, calls made to him were not answered, no reply on messages either. Calls after calls, and many massages later, he replied by giving excuses and of course empty promises then gone quiet after that (although he's still very much active in Whatsapp...)

Came to my senses and suspecting something amiss, I went to check on the addresses on both of the quotation and receipt issued to me earlier, guess what? There is no existence of TAT construction at both locations.

I seriously think he had absconded with the money.

I went to the MF management and found out more that I may not be the only victim here. If anyone of you reading this is in the same boat, perhaps we could discuss this privately for solutions going forward.

I can totally feel your pain. I used TAT construction (Mr Oh) for my unit too. He promised to get it done within one and half months but I ended up waited for 5 months. Worse still, I have to help out the worker to install some of the stuff, cleaned up the unit myself!

Initially, he installed plaster ceiling rather fast, after that, everything gone pear shape. NOONE work in my unit for 3 weeks, I called and complaint then he sent someone to do some touch up works, and after that, same thing happened over and over again. Fake postponed deadline for don't know 6-8 times. Excuses like material hasn't arrived, this delay that delay.... I'm a very patience person and this guy (Mr Oh) really pissed me off badly. He started to ignore my calls, not reply messages etc. My gut feeling is, he kept looking for projects, promised fake deadlines and handle it later. I almost wanted to sue him!

My advice is, whatever thing you want him to do, or stuff such as colour, socket location, quatz stone etc, all should have a written copy as evidence in case he mess your stuff up (HE WILL MESS IT UP) and you will have proof to argue with him. He got many of my stuff wrong. I was being kind and let go some of the mistakes because I really need to move in asap. But now I know I shouldn't have done it. So, don't repeat my mistake. If something is wrong, not based on your spec, stand strong and ask him to correct it! Don't pay the money until he finished what had listed in the timeframe. Money is the only thing you have.

I know he has a partner named Danny (long hair, tall, indian race). In the past few days I saw him sitting in laundry shop (behind gym room) reception a few times. You might want to go there and ask him, they are from the same company.

All the best for you.

Agreed with Maviko. Also, I don't think people can be forced to terminate their subscription.

Personally, I think it's part of YTL's move to "encourage" people using theirs so called fast but very limited Yes 4G services.

I went to management office and signed the unifi application/petition. Apparently it has about 30+ applicants at the moment, we are 170 short!

I asked them why don't they put it on notice board, the receptionist said they aren't allowed to promo it. So I guess we can't really do much but wait, or whenever you see a residence, tell them about it.

So bad.... ya, I keep on telling neighbors to visit and sign up at management.

Another way, is get the application form and staple with a msg paper, put inside every mail box...

Anyone can get the bulk application forms? I am willing to do the printing and distribution job =) so that there're no excuse that MF not enough applicants to install unifi.

Are we even allow to do that?

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take note.

Well, he asked for one month extension and I gave him that or refund (which of course will take longer... who knows how long based on his reputations)

Will see how it goes, still damn pissed off with him!

Is his worker working today? He still need to install the clothes hanger for me.

Any Maxis user here? How is the 4G LTE speed at Midfields? thinking of getting that instead of YES 4G
*
I'm using Maxis 4G 48GB package. Lucky enough, this area is covered with LTE. Overall it's quite stable, the wireless signal isn't that strong to penetrate walls. eg, if I put it in master bedroom, the signal is quite weak, so I have to put it right in the middle of living room and MBR.

Speed is quite good except you might encounter the slowness during peak hours (in the afternoon), at night it's fast. I use scheduler to download stuff during those non-peak hours (2am-8am). Overall, it's the best solution available for now. Nothing beats unifi of course, but we don't have choices.

I apply it at the maxis shop in front of midfields.

U guys able to watch the HD Channel? Coz mine is service unavailable. Or I need to pay RM660 for the wiring in order to get HD?
*
I think it's RM280, go to notice board you should see the dedicated astro contractor. It was RM50 before during the promotion, but I missed it. I too wanted Astro HD but RM280 is too ex!

i just move in mid fields, block B1
how do we book the badminton court? have to go management office during working hour? any fees for booking?
by the way, do our condo has a sauna? i could not find it anywhere.
thank you
*
You can make phone call to management office. During weekend I think you need to book through guards. Free of charge.

No sauna facility. In my opinion, the badminton court itself is a sauna tongue.gif

Anyway, it's passed 5th of May. How's the UniFi petition going on? Did we achieve 300 sign ups?

Dear Midfields Owners / Buyers,

I noticed that many of you were complaining about the Developer not making Unifi / Telekom Services available and all of you are compelled to use the services of their Sister Company, YES.

Some good news. I have spoken to the good people at the National Housebuyers Association (“HBA”) who has close links to the Ministry of Housing and HBA have spoken to the top bosses in KPKT and KPKT will bring this issue up for a formal discussion at the next meeting of the legal committee next month (June 2014)

In the interim period, HBA suggests that formal complaint be lodged with KPKT with more details so that KPKT may investigate and response to the complainant. Please e-mail complaints to KPKT E-mel : jpn@kpkt.gov.my and also cc the complaint to the HBA at info@hba.org.my with title (Developer not Building Last Mile for Public Utilities – Telco)

Please urge all interested owners to lodge complains with details, supporting documents and please do it ASAP and please spread the word via other social media and also for this Developer other Projects)

Together we can make a difference if we are united.

PS – No promises made, no credits taken for this action. Next step is for owners to convince KPKT to take action.

nebousuke, please lodge complains ASAP and rally others to do so.

I had a very bad experience dealing with this Mr Oh contractor from Tat construction and I'm glad it's over, what left behind is some poor workmanship. You might wanna reach him with this phone 0172634487.

I'm a patience person and this guy has really crossed the line.

QUOTE(jon1980 @ Jul 6 2014, 12:59 AM)
Hi everyone. I am considering purchasing a unit at Midfields 1 as a home for my wife and I.

I have read through almost every page of this thread and note the problems highlighted here last year. I would like to inquire whether these problems have been resolved - and if not resolved, whether concrete steps are underway to resolve them).

Specifically:-

1) I understand that there is a petition to install telephony and Unifi broadband services. The petition requires 400 signatures if I am not mistaken. What is the status of this petition?
- lastest info I heard: someone saw a team of telekom guys and Mr Mohan (The management) inspecting B1 building

2) For those of you who are using YES, what is the cost and have you experienced any problems with YES?
- I'm using Maxis Broadband, and somehow it's getting unstable during weekdays.

3) For those living in Block B2, do you encounter any noise and/or dust from the Midfields 2 construction site?
- I'm from B1, I can hear the noise vividly, so it should be the same or worse in B2.

4) Is open burning of plastics and other waste (from the nearby waste/recycling yard) a noticeable problem?
- During the haze season, the air from the outside stink. Otherwise, I didn't notice anything.

6) Is noise from the highways noticeably loud (the entire condominium in general but Block B2 in particular)?
- Without the MF2 construction, it's actually very quiet.

5) Do the landscaped grounds experience flooding when it rains?
- It did, and they made drain along the sidewalk.

6) Do the pools (both the main and the smaller pool) still experience flooding from the grounds when it rains?
- not sure, haven't rained for a while.

7) I read somewhere here that when the unit above washes his balcony, water will leak onto the balcony below. Is this true?

8) Is the Management Office open from 9am to 6pm on weekdays only?
- Yes

9) it seems crime is also a problem (read about the murder of the Indonesian national and apparently car rims were stolen). Has Management taken any concrete steps to reassure residents or beef up security?
- For security purposes, they installed steel front gate near the 99mart entrance. close from 12am to 6am, you can't even use the walkway resident door entrance, that's quite absurd, really.

10) Lastly, are there any other issues that I should be aware of?
- People are renovating theirs house, I have one upstair, and it's noisier than MF2 construction. But I guess it's normal.
- Choosing carpark, as low as possible.
- Report all defects you found
- Good thing, they installed steel curtain for corner units of every single floor. I saw someone actually paid to do it, but now I get it for free. That will solve heavy rain and rain water will leak into my house issue.

Thank you so much and I do apologize in advance for the long list of queries (trying to do my due diligence before buying). Any assistance or advice is most appreciated.

Cheers

Jon

I only can answer a few, I'm from Block B1, have been staying here for 7 months now. Some answers might not be relevant, so I hope it helps.
