Anyone install Astro from the roadshow held at the block B lobby? How much did u pay for it?

From my understanding during the roadshow, i was told to pay RM50 for the HD but if I wanna have the PvR function, all I need is to pay RM180.

But when the installer called me, I have to pay extra RM660 if I want the PVR. I rejected it & convert back to just the Beyond HD which I need to pay RM180. They are suppose to call me back next week.

Very confusing. Anyone can help me on this matter? Or I need to call ASTRO to clarify it?

I paid only RM50 for new subscription. I had an old B.yond decoder (no longer under contract) but they told me if i were to re-use that, then installation would be RM180

Hi Guys,

Came across this product called Fiz from YES that is being offered to rural areas, it comes with unlimited quota but much slower speed than the usual YES packages. Download 1Mbps /Upload 384Kbps.

Not sure if it will work in Midfields?

So you are using your old Astro decoder, the total fees is only RM50 + RM180??
*
Nope. I signed up a new subscription because i dont want to pay RM180. Going to terminate the old subscription soon.

In the meantime, I got a response from ABNXcess' CEO telling midfielders the following:

Thank you for contacting us. Our timing for design completion in your area is expected to be May of this year. However, the timing for network construction is not fixed and subject to approvals from the authorities. My colleague, Kumar who heads our Property Acquisition Department will be in touch on the firm timetables. In addition, he will be communicating with you on getting the necessary formal consents from your JMB or MC.

Thank you again for reaching out to us and we look forward to serving you and your neighbours.

Best regards,

Sreedhar

Does it mean they are bringing the internet plus the digital cable tv to midfields?
*
No idea, we'll see. Their TV channels aren't that interesting though...

is the clamping fee very hefty ? looks like MF need to deploy more guards. the area there at night is abit too quiet ... need some time for the shops to get occupied and by then should be better .. more ppl then they not so bold to come robbing...
*
We should ask management to buy more parangs and keep it in the guard house instead.

Police cordoned off the visitor entrances at the main guard house this morning at about 9.40am. I saw a motorcycle and a body underneath the black plastics. It didn't look like an accident though...

Anyone has installed intercom? Who is supposed to install for us? Management?
*
Every unit comes with one, all you need to do is just plug it into the network port in the living room or the master bedroom.

Ask from the owner (or ex-owner) if you were not given one.

Maxis is pretty ok if you're on the higher floors, LTE can get about 10Mbps but again it's the limited quota that put me off

only 2 persons voted for YES Fibre during the AGM, the rest voted for TM unifi so we're going ahead with Unifi

Just curious, has anyone of you here experience marble dropping noise coming from the units above you at night or during midnight. Sounds like kids playing marbles but who play marbles these days?

It's really loud and annoying and seems like a norm in HDB too....

Spoke to Alex over the weekend and heard from him that the most recent progress of Unifi installation is currently on hold, awaiting for approval from management for next steps in installation (my apologies, for I am not familiar with all tech thingamajigs hence not able to name the next procedure that Alex mentioned). Apparently the hold up is due to the current manager working in management has resigned and is causing a delay. I called the management office today, spoke to the manager, Kelvin Lee and was being told in an unpleasant and unprofessional manner that there is no such hold up and Alex is spreading nonsense due to his incapability to deliver his work.

Whoa! What is going on..? Has anyone has gotten the most recent update pertaining to Unifi installation and could shed some light?

On an additional note, I'm amused to be scolded by this manager for calling to ask about Unifi installation progress. I've been paying monthly maintenance fees which also goes to this manager's salary. So in summary, that means I'm paying for him to scold me..?
*
Let the finger pointing begins....

I was told that there's no power supply available in the MDF room to cater for the networking equipment and such arrangement is in progress as we speak (not sure by Alex or Building management) hence the cause of the delays and was told the service will not be available until August.

Did he mention the name of the manager?

Sigh...

I agree but right now I'm not aware of any channel that we can get in touch with the elected members of the JMB other than thru EGM or AGM nor we have a platform for residents to discuss on matters related to the condo, so everything has to go thru the management office which kinda sucks.

A Facebook group (closed group) would be nice and we can add all the residents (with verified resident card ID) to the group and discuss from there, and of course the JMB representatives will need to be in there as well.

QUOTE(confuzan @ Jul 27 2015, 04:23 PM)
one piece of information to share regarding power. they are getting TNB to install a meter so that all electricity used to power up TM equipment are to be charged to TM and not to JMB.

as for the finger pointing, i have said it before, that JMB should organize more frequent communication session with resident to update the residents on any decision being made. case in point, the switching of cleaner contracts. no explanation given on why it was changed. right now i don't see much transparency in the decision making.

Apparently, TM conducted the testing, all good. But now waiting for the final approval from Besraya.
*
Besraya? the highway concession? Has this got anything to do with them?

Any idea if they have sorted out the TNB power to the equipment riser?

The last feedback I got from Alex was, 80% completed. No idea what't he remaining 20% though.
