These came in today from H22A CPF. Heatsink for Maglite D cell P7. Gathering up ingredients. Perfect fit on silver Mad 2D, was a little tight on my black Maglite.

Nice sink. What kind of set up will you be doing?

Sounds good. My 1D host should be with me this week. Just a matter of soldering wires to switch. Wow...Elephant 2..that should make a damn good host. You have one?

Mag 1D is indeed cheaper to mod than buying the Elephant 2. It comes complete instead of the Elephant 2.

Oh NO! Unfortunately, my setup may not be ready :'(

I just experienced a short circuit, and my IMR18500 cells died, along with my twisty tailcap and D26 T1.5 module springs sad.gif

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=257976

Lesson: Do NOT underestimate how powerful IMR cells can be - exercise caution! And remove your batteries before changing P60 drop-ins, and check that the spring is straight before putting them back in!
*
Sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing. Never thought this kind of thing will happen. I do sometimes leave the battery in the host and swapped drop ins. So far nothing happen. Thank God.

Yup...took me a while to understand. The battery adapters itself can buy you a Mag 3D. Damn expensive.

Good luck with your build.

Those Li-Mn & Li-On batteries are pretty powerful. They need T.L.C. I always make sure the contacts never touch each other when outside of the host(storage).

thats true....not sure if i need to go for it..still considering it...i more keen on finishing the parts i have bought and using the mag host..anyway i'm not rushing, i have enough light for now, but tri p7 and single p7 needs to be done..
*
You have to build those on your own. It will be very interesting. I did both on my own. From sawing the tower switches to soldering and epoxying the LEDs' to the sink. Sourcing PVC tube took me a few days to find suitable one.

I undo the single P7 to give way for the SST-90 DD d2flex.

What I meant was for the host. I uninstall the P7 from the Dual 18650 2P host for the SST-90 mod.

Nothing is for sale at the moment. The single P7 will be installed into the Mag 1D that you've seen at CPF

Thanks for the compliment guys.

damonlbs,

I'll advertise here first should I decide to sell. Selling locally easier than abroad.

My 3 small lights.  nod.gif  Give them a breath of fresh air.
[attachmentid=1408778]
The nice thing is that I can use a blue 3.7V battery for these lights. Abit loose inside the tube, the hot spot is the same as when I'm using 2 x 3.0V CR123 batteries.
[attachmentid=1408781]
Some beam shots.
Low beam.
[attachmentid=1408790]
[attachmentid=1408791]
High beam.
[attachmentid=1408792]

Eh, I'm thinking of selling the LX2 if there are anyone interested. Don't quite like the twisty tail. Can include 2 pieces of the 14650 batteries too. Anyone interested, please pm me. Long time didn't use yellow font.  thumbup.gif

Hi Guys,

This is my first single P7 mod in a Mag 1D host. It's Direct Drive. Host custom made by wquiles of CPF.

I got the host last Wednesday and manage to finish the mod tonight. Took me 1.5 hours to finish. Below are what I've done. Hope you guys like it.

The host itself. What a beauty.

user posted image

Britelumen's reflector and borosilicate lens.

Switch and sleeve done. Fine sand paper used for final finishing. Still a bit rough though.

user posted image

Soldering completed. Not easy as it seems.

user posted image

Battery sleeve, battery and deep tail cap mod. Spring sat right at the bottom of tail cap.

user posted image

YESSSSS!

Completed host.

Finally. Beamshot 2 feet away from blue wall. thumbup.gif

I don't keep those hacksaw blades. The Leatherman finer tooth will take me twice the time. So I sort to the coarser one.

Big lights for me...not at the moment. I've spent too much for the past 2 months sweat.gif . That mod above complete my collection of all common LEDs' except the MC-E though. Am eyeing the S1800 but wait till the price drop biggrin.gif or on sale.

Fyi...I've just saved $60 by doing the switch and battery sleeve mod myself.

Looks great! Except you might wanna tame that spring a little bit before it chews your IMR to bits.

I've replaced it with a KD golden shorty spring. Now it's better. Thanks.
