i cant find it anywhere that n1 is cheaper than desire. all i found in australia is around AUD$50-100 exp than desire. if buy it direct from google compare with desire from UK, N1 still abit exp than desire because of postage...
for the battery, not only you complaint.and also heard kill apps will not help anything and MIGHT be make ur device run slower(from what i heard in N1 thread) so just leave the background apps run and try to off your 3g,wifi,low brightness, etc if you never use..if u browsing website with flash then it will not surprise to drop so fast for ur battery.. but still it is smartphone comes with android that focus more on "Cloud" connection... i never own htc desire but i read it from other forum regarding htc desire.. hope it helps |

QUOTE(linkinawe @ May 2 2010, 01:58 PM) depend , there are many apps running on background even you are not using it , you can select which apps you want to kill . I only on wifi with other 3g rss feed off , using android power control. on The brightness I set to lowest , almost zero ! just browsing engadget only , less flash .. and I also not browsing continuously , because I was watching tv , browsed about 1 page in 10 mins . Only have my eyes read them when Tv enter commercial. like i said, task killer MIGHT make ur device run slower..thts wat i heard only..android handle background apps in good n proper way..some say even u kill an unuse task tht doesnt mean u can save ur battery life too..mayb u can test for it? |

yes if u need sense ui..n1 can get sense ui too with root
desire can get vanilla android without root... today once again i play htc desire at my local telco..n i compare with HD2.found out HD2 smoother a bit than desire when scrolling pages..mayb due to "heaviness" sense ui for desire..so i turn off live wallpaper n compare with hd2(live walpaper) and still hd2 smoother... n i like the clock animation from HD2..it will flip the pages up after minute.. |

QUOTE(mikelee @ May 3 2010, 04:55 PM) I don't think we need to wait that long after the official launch from HTC. I remembered the Legend was launched recently and Digi quickly launched the DG Smart Plan together. at first i thought desire have the clock animation but i asked z3r0,he dun think have. i try play myself but cant find any setting for it Didn't know Desire doesn't have that clock animation. As I know it has the similar weather animation from HD2. How about the feel between these 2 devices? I have hold the HD2 before it seems solid. personally, i like the overall design of HD2. is not really bulky,is just wider with 4.3" screen which is suitable for Windows OS(windows always have big icons) but it will be perfect for android...by holding HD2, it really feels like PDA and professional but unfortunately, it comes with WM6.5 which is final OS and cant have new WM7 in future QUOTE(draco82 @ May 3 2010, 04:57 PM) just read the post i replied not long ago..i tried to disable data for my iphone but it cannot be done..some says maxis makes ur device cannot disable the data..im not sure Added on May 3, 2010, 3:07 pmn 1 thing, u can call ur telco(maxis, digi, etc) to disable the data if u dun plan to use data This post has been edited by hihihehe: May 3 2010, 03:07 PM |

QUOTE(draco82 @ May 3 2010, 05:32 PM) But i think i dont have problem on doing that with the nokia i m using since i can switch to gsm or umts only plus can switch off the wifi scanning. No such function in desire? Any current desire user can answer that? I still prefer to have the data plan, just dun need it to on all the time to save the battery life... just turn off ur 3G to 2G..and turn off ur wifi, etc(i m a maxis user) |

QUOTE(avengers88 @ May 4 2010, 02:40 AM) so iphone is better in terms of multi touch ?? no doubt..iphone touch screen is definitely better than desire or n1...Apple name wont come for nothing oh man it's so difficult to choose whether iphone or desire . sumore iphone 4g coming out =.= QUOTE(linkinawe @ May 4 2010, 09:21 AM) both Nexus and Desire using the same touchscreen panel , ClearPad2000 , only limited to 2 fingers with less responsive IF compare to Incredible . Incredible using CLearPAd3000 touchscreen panel which allow 9++ multitouch with high accuracy of responsive . Think la , basically when you need 2 fingers of multitouch ? when you choosing apps , making call , writing text (using swype) , normally 1 finger can done that =.= . Unless you want to play multiplayer game with 4 fingers ++ , with opponent on the same phone . Pinch and zoom is very smooth for expanding homescreen or picture , web site browsing. I dont see any other cases that needed multitouch (2 fingers) that much , normally 1 finger can do all the task. lol , think of how often you use more than 2 multi-touch 1st and whether it will slow down your productivity, no need comparing which phone has the best touch screen panel while you are not needed it. To me , Desire and Nexus are 95% smooth like Iphone , that 5% you wont notice with naked eye. talking about smooth,i still experienced low responsive when i scroll pages using htc desire..i off live walpaper n compare with hd2 and hd2 slightly better than desire..so i would say desire is at least 80% smooth like iphoneQUOTE(davidmak @ May 4 2010, 11:21 AM) But at any one time, does 4 points are required? In other words, 4 fingers touching the screen at any one time? Yeah this is better than x10 with a large screen but only single touch. i duno it support 4 fingers together or not but when im playing tap tap and need to press 3-4 places in same time, it never miss.i can press itTrue and I agree gaming experience is much better on real buttons. But since we're using touch screen here and there are times we just need a quick fix, so this has to be considered as well. Its only for a relaxing moment, no record setting intentions hehehe... |

QUOTE(linkinawe @ May 4 2010, 01:11 PM) HD2 is scrolling is faster because Desire need time to make font to fit in screen . check the HD2 vs Iphone 3GS vs Desire... Desire is fastest in browsing internet , HD2 is the slowest . lol i got no comment on web browsing because each device have its own browser like Safari for iPhone.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « with a fast snapdragon n more ram, of coz it will b helping for web browsing..same like pc try 3rd party browser like Opera in iPhone..it was faster than stock Safari.. so i feel comparing the browser is not rly a big issue... |

QUOTE(cylon @ May 5 2010, 01:30 PM) I believe one of the reason iPhone conserver more battery usage than Android is due to it doesn't support multitasking/background process. Google Latitude is an example where one location is updated. That's why iPhone doesn't have Latitude. this has been discussed around..so maybe its too late to say now?anyway iphone do have background process..just u cant c the process |
