depend , there are many apps running on background even you are not using it , you can select which apps you want to kill . I only on wifi with other 3g rss feed off , using android power control. on The brightness I set to lowest , almost zero ! just browsing engadget only , less flash .. and I also not browsing continuously , because I was watching tv , browsed about 1 page in 10 mins . Only have my eyes read them when Tv enter commercial.

welcome to the Desire club  , I think TS should add owner name to first post already  ?? .. I wanted to root but since I still have more 70mb for apps , so I just forget it .. the 70mb spaces left after installed 20 ++ apps , mainly productivity and useful tools ... no games ... Beside ,next month , google will announces app to sd already , so no point to root for now 

want to become developer ?

Or to install all sorts of applications hehehehe... For me, I personally like the cache cleaning application that is only available post rooting.

Data of d phone will still run although u r not using it...similar like iphone n there is no 3g or edge 4 u 2 off...when u r in d non wifi area then u will be getting charges...

I don't think we need to wait that long after the official launch from HTC. I remembered the Legend was launched recently and Digi quickly launched the DG Smart Plan together.
Didn't know Desire doesn't have that clock animation. As I know it has the similar weather animation from HD2. How about the feel between these 2 devices? I have hold the HD2 before it seems solid.

That means there is no way for us to close the wifi or 3g usage in the phone itself like winmo?

But i think i dont have problem on doing that with the nokia i m using since i can switch to gsm or umts only plus can switch off the wifi scanning. No such function in desire? Any current desire user can answer that? I still prefer to have the data plan, just dun need it to on all the time to save the battery life...

so the battery of desire is worse than iphone 3gs even if we put the phone on 3g network on both phone? how long will it last anyway?

both Nexus and Desire using the same touchscreen panel , ClearPad2000 , only limited to 2 fingers with less responsive IF compare to Incredible . Incredible using CLearPAd3000 touchscreen panel which allow 9++ multitouch with high accuracy of responsive . Think la , basically when you need 2 fingers of multitouch ? when you choosing apps , making call , writing text (using swype) , normally 1 finger can done that =.= . Unless you want to play multiplayer game with 4 fingers ++ , with opponent on the same phone . Pinch and zoom is very smooth for expanding homescreen or picture , web site browsing. I dont see any other cases that needed multitouch (2 fingers) that much , normally 1 finger can do all the task. lol , think of how often you use more than 2 multi-touch 1st and whether it will slow down your productivity, no need comparing which phone has the best touch screen panel while you are not needed it. To me , Desire and Nexus are 95% smooth like Iphone , that 5% you wont notice with naked eye.

But at any one time, does 4 points are required? In other words, 4 fingers touching the screen at any one time? Yeah this is better than x10 with a large screen but only single touch.
True and I agree gaming experience is much better on real buttons. But since we're using touch screen here and there are times we just need a quick fix, so this has to be considered as well. Its only for a relaxing moment, no record setting intentions hehehe...

HD2 is scrolling is faster because Desire need time to make font to fit in screen . check the HD2 vs Iphone 3GS vs Desire... Desire is fastest in browsing internet , HD2 is the slowest . lol

I believe one of the reason iPhone conserver more battery usage than Android is due to it doesn't support multitasking/background process. Google Latitude is an example where one location is updated. That's why iPhone doesn't have Latitude.

Found that the desire is a bit warm after using for while, do you guys having the same problem?

hey since this phone is the same as the nexus one based on the hardware but in terms of software which would have an advantage? like which is more likely to get more roms or more themes?
