QUOTE(winner @ Nov 19 2009, 03:34 PM) I wonder what the hell they wanted to have a copy of your cc. If I were you, I won't let them photostat my cc except passport. I would only let them photostat the front page only if they insist on having it. Normally hotel will only swipe your cc and block a certain amount during check-in. updated from CS, they now only required me to fill in the 16 digits number in the form, tht's all. |

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Nov 20 2009, 04:49 PM) they will do something but I'm not sure how much they can do to help. They'll lose A LOT if they pay for everyone the RM50. Not to mention gov may 're-act' if the banks actually pay the RM50 for everyone. hey, tht guy no own 9 cards la... but 40. We still need to cancel off those cards we are not using. It is a good chance to 'flush' out all the unused and unnecessary cards we have. Like that guy who has 9 cards but only uses 1 |

QUOTE(winner @ Nov 24 2009, 08:33 AM) http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v5/newsindex.php?id=457325 we will never ever managed to get the PROOF of the 2% charges on credit card. November 23, 2009 15:29 PM Traders Not Allowed To Impose Surcharge On Credit Card Purchase KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Traders, in principle, are not allowed to impose a surcharge on purchase made using credit cards, the Dewan Rakyat was told on Monday. Second Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah said the restriction was in line with the regulation set by credit card brands such as MasterCard Worldwide and Visa International, and the terms spelled out in the agreement between traders and merchant acquirers. "Card holders can actually inform the merchant acquirers or credit card issuers on the surcharge by submitting proofs, such as receipts, so that investigation can be carried out. "Card holders can also choose not to buy from traders who impose the surcharge," he said in reply to Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan (BN-Kota Belud) at the Dewan Rakyat on Monday. Abdul Rahman wanted to know whether traders were allowed to impose a surcharge of two per cent for purchase using credit cards, and described such an act as a "daylight robbery." To a question from Teo Nie Ching (DAP-Serdang) on the rational for the annual RM50 service tax imposed on principal credit cards, Ahmad Husni said it was to promote prudent spending. He said many individuals were holding a number of credit cards despite their limited income. -- BERNAMA the merchant wont be so "nice" until give you the receipts showing the 2% charges. mostly the merchant will required us to pay cash for 2% on top of the purchases which charge to CC. should i ask, did any1 managed to get such PROOF? |

QUOTE(hye @ Nov 24 2009, 03:52 PM) I recently posted a dispute to my bank challenging AirAsia's convenience fee. If that fails then I'll highlight the issue with VISA/Mastercard International and let's hear the official word on this. FYI: Let's see how that will work out. not only Air Asia is charging convenience fee, but others like Tiger Air, JetStar also charging. |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Nov 25 2009, 05:14 PM) Public Bank is not the only bank that requires you to go to your home branch to collect the certificate. Many other banks practice the same system such as RHB Bank, AmBank, EON Bank just to name a few. Maybank and CIMB Bank are the only banks in Malaysia that no longer produce the physical certificate if you place your FD online, as far as i know. tht day at the HSBC main, i saw 1 old auntie, she bring 1 stalk of FD slips........ Agreed shd be coming for renewal... |

QUOTE(axlkey @ Nov 26 2009, 03:03 PM) when i read this --- > landmark case on fraudulent credit card usage it was clear that if we not satisfy with FMB decision, our next move should be bringing the matter to High Court.. ..only then we can fight for our right Lesson: becareful when visit MATTA fair. QUOTE(hye @ Nov 26 2009, 04:10 PM) Yup ... and you'll need a lot of staying power. Not to mentioned need to be prepared mentally and the bundle of inconveniences, all of your assets will likely be frozen once the bank begin their battle with you. I've experienced this just because my "good" friend did not pay up and I was the guarantor. your persistent is a great thing to learn from u.I marched to the bank and told them they need to clear my name (remove from being blacklisted) as a condition before I pay off my friend's debt. And I'm not walking out without that B&W guarantee. Initally they were hesitant and I told them it is to your KPI advantage that you can close this case and you don't get anything if you want to fight with me ... so now you want this money or not ? Well ... I got that letter 5 mins after that. |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Dec 3 2009, 02:38 AM) AMEX a big no no. MBB the best card to use overseas. Even though Alliance claims that there is no admin fees for overseas transactions whereas MBB charges are 0.5%, after conversion MBB rate is lower. Maybe is because the exchange rate for Alliance's is higher than MBB's. Confirm this when I use both MBB and Alliance in SG few month back. But do note, Alliance have 2X reward for overseas transaction and therefore not much diff. |
