absolutely, man. most of our conceded goals are from set pieces, the ironic is we have quite a number of big and tall player at the back. i wonder why eh? the point is we have to start winning now, lets start on this wednesday. because on december and january are crucial for us, we have to maintain our attacking form.
Portsmouth (H) (Wednesday) West Ham (A) Birmingham (A) Fulham (H) Hull City (A) Sunderland (H) Birmingham (H) Burnley (A) the fixtures may look like "our dream fixtures", but i sense a tricky one from our london rivals. |

well i guess its obvious everyone knows our problems lie in defence. some truly fantastic goals scored vs everton, but an embarassing inability to defend setpieces. probably carlo has got them working overtime on that now. bringing alex back in could help too. what i don't get is why everyone defended so deep against everton, leaving cech with too little space to operate. oh well..good thing agbonlahor did us a favour. meanwhile, malaysia's entry into the final of the SEA games cheered me up considerably.

for those guys out there who thinks... 4-4-2 not good ... c'mon .. it has brought us to the top of the table...
its balanced.. excellent.. although lamps doesnt score as much .. 4-3-3.. doesnt bring the best out of our supporting striker.. Anelka.. 4-3-3.. dogster.. need to work farking hard... as a long striker.. i'll go with 4-4-2... but sometimes bring malouda in .. that day vs everton.. PURE UNLUCKY ... and LUCKY EVERTON MUST BE SMILING AWAY .. i was so frust that night .. it was 3 unlucky goals in a row.. For me, Carlo Ancelotti and the team, must take a day off and go to the church or mosque or .. go and pray... hope the unluckiness go away .. especially Cech for now... so damn unlucky and all the fingers are pointing to him ... Chelsea are playing great football now...... Only that, in football we need some luck ..... |

QUOTE(Da-heck @ Dec 15 2009, 11:19 AM) for those guys out there who thinks... 4-4-2 not good ... c'mon .. it has brought us to the top of the table... i'm with you on that. our 4 diamond 2 has brought us to the top of the epl and champions league group. absolutely no reason to change it right now. lampsy's work is more behind the scenes at the moment, with subtle assists and timely tackles. although i'd be lying if i said i didn't miss his incisive late runs into the box which usually end up with the ball being smashed into the back of the net. ivanovic's runs and crosses down the right have also improved by a significant degree and i applaud carlo for getting the best out of him. it was an absolute joy watching the everton defenders literally bouncing off him as he shielded the ball and passed it to anelka for that sweet finish! its balanced.. excellent.. although lamps doesnt score as much .. 4-3-3.. doesnt bring the best out of our supporting striker.. Anelka.. 4-3-3.. dogster.. need to work farking hard... as a long striker.. i'll go with 4-4-2... but sometimes bring malouda in .. that day vs everton.. Only that, in football we need some luck ..... the thing that needs the most work right now is undoubtedly, setpiece defending. one of the espn guys said it was 7 of our last 10 goals that were conceded from setpieces? astonishing. rectify that and we should be okay. |

indeed there is nothing wrong with the adopted formation, but sometimes, and in a row, carlo has fielded in the wrong players. what is deco and ballack still doing in the starting eleven if they arent performing? we've lost to mancity and drew everton, if we have to rely on the opponent's luck, we're gonna lose our lead at the top of the table. there is no time to sit back because we're on top, by a mere 3 point gap from united, and now arsenal. im not saying that we MUST win all the games but its not the time to draw or lose games at this time of the season. if the boys dont buck up and create another streak of ruthless wins, we are definitely going to struggle or worse, chase instead of being chased. the boys should get their act together and start winning games, i dont mind even if its grinding out those one nils. 3 points will do us more good than a goal fest but only one point. imho, who fails to perform, warms the bench, unless he's the best we've got but i do not believe so as we've got a thick squad of quality players, everyone wanting a spot in the first eleven.

lets not give ballack and deco too much stick, they are after all fighting for the club too. but they not performing, so they should warm the bench at the moment. the likes of malouda and kakuta who is on fire should be given a start. i heard matic was awesome in training after reading the wilkins interview.

Stoch is doing really well at FC Twente. Can't wait to see him coming back to Chelsea.

QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ Dec 15 2009, 03:59 PM) yes he was, in fact i think his RB rampage started off when Guus came in, as he made some cover for Boss who was out for suspension (in UCL) or slight injury. But this season, he's doing really well, so far. |
