Watching a blue-ray movie on a laptop screen is just too overkill mate, and I doubt games will use blu-ray discs in the close future, so yea dont think blue-ray is necessary for now in a laptop.
However SSD is going to be necessary in the future for better performance.

#PS: get a PS3 or external blue-ray player with your 40" Sony Bravia TV would do a better job lol.

you are right bro, My M15x also using OCZ Vertex turbo 120GB.....

I think long and hard wanting to get Alienware M17x and i dont mind spending 12k for a super gaming laptop with Nvidia 280 GTX SLI but one thing i cant accept is that Alienware M17x customize CPU Chip up to Core 2 Duo Extreme.. Cant they let me choose other chip like i7 or i7 Extreme or better than Core 2 Duo???
Truely, even the Dell Alienware promotion is still on but i cant take a Duo core Alienware ....

well for gaming QX9300 is a lot better than Core i7 920XM
Core i7 920XM is only better in certain application calculation, in gaming, QX9300 still better than Core i7 920XM.
However, QX9300 is overclockable to 3.06, even 3.33Ghz if u know how to tweak it
