PS3 have a more inferior GPU compare to Xbox 360, but the special thing about PS3 is some graphic processing tasks can be offloaded to Cell CPU, of course it takes significant effort to optimize all the SPUs, which usually only 1st and 2nd party developers have these dedication
Xbox 360 first mistake is that they abandoned the HDD to be mandatory

QUOTE(dattebayo @ Jan 19 2010, 01:46 PM) PS3 have a more inferior GPU compare to Xbox 360, but the special thing about PS3 is some graphic processing tasks can be offloaded to Cell CPU, of course it takes significant effort to optimize all the SPUs, which usually only 1st and 2nd party developers have these dedication Xbox 360 first mistake is that they abandoned the HDD to be mandatory Because the RSX was pretty last minute. IIRC, all graphics processing was supposed to be done on the Cell, but they added the RSX to make devs lives easier. Basically, they made a fully functional system with decent enough graphics processing capabilities and added in a rather weak GPU.
