QUOTE(dwin95 @ Jan 13 2010, 02:25 PM) that's my personal opinion lah. u still need the d5000 if u want video and live view thoughhowever, if u can spend more in the future, a better body might be beneficial. for me i'd get a cheap body, then spend money on lenses until i need a better body for specific reasons, like higher FPS, video recording, etc megapixel nevermind. 12 vs 10 isnt much difference. u can hardly notice it This post has been edited by dvlzplayground: Jan 13 2010, 02:50 PM |

Can the sifus in this thread advice me on the best price that i can get for the 1000d ( of course with the card & bag thrown in). I checked at lowyat but the price(1950.00) still seems to be the same as last year. Maybe this is the current best price! I dont know pleaseeeeee advice. TQ seems reasonable to me. QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Jan 14 2010, 02:49 AM) While I agree that some manufacturers (especially camera phone) are trying to mislead buyers by promoting solely the megapixels, we still can't deny the importance of it on a larger sensors. agreed. a full-frame camera might do justice to a pro's skill in photography. for the masses, even the cheapest digital camera should suffice. i just 'downgraded' from a 10mp compact to a 6mp DSLR Example: - 3MP picture taken with a decent old-skool camera may look nice on screen, or 4R print but definitely not anything larger - High megapixel photos (given that it is taken with a decent DSLR camera) allows more possibility of cropping It doesn't make sense for small sensor cameras to have overly high MP (it will look bad anyway), but full frame DSLR like EOS 5D Mark II can totally unleash its sensor potential by delivering a good 21.1 Megapixels. For casual DSLR photographers, the standard 8-12 megapixels should be more than sufficient |

I would like to know what are the pros and cons of these camera. mmm here's my takeCanon S90 Canon G11 Lumix LX3 Thanks S90 - slimmest. better in low light than G11. G11 - bulky. lots of buttons to adjust settings, instead of diving into menus LX3 - thicker than S90 but smaller than G11. quality and low light performance comparable to S90. got hotshoe to expand it to a system |

QUOTE(Quickerzranoid @ Jan 17 2010, 09:32 PM) RM1950.00 for D3000??? with the kit lens? R u serious? where EXACTLY is the shop? the nikon d3000 should be around rm2k with kit lens, or 1.7k without any lens (if u prefer other lens). Rm2.3k is too expensive dude i've heard ppl say sony lenses are more expensive too, but when i survey they're not hehe. also heard they're quite user-friendly, although i never played with one myself. about the AF motor in d3000, it's like this. for nikon cameras, only the D90 and above has built-in AF motor, meaning they can use a huge range of lenses. the d5000 and d3000 has no AF motor, so they can only autofocus on newer lenses called AF-S, which has the AF motor built-in. they still can USE other lenses, but just cant autofocus so u need to rely on manual focus. but for me no AF motor is not a big problem. the choices of AF-S lenses are pretty good |

QUOTE(sevensigns @ Jan 18 2010, 10:42 AM) hello.I want to ask.If my budjet is only rm2k.What will should i get the dslr camera?.D60 or D80?.which one with good with my budjet.. as i mentioned, u can get d3000 or 1000d. the d3000 is the replacement for d60 which is about the same price, so better juz get the d3000 (unless u can find d60 for much2 cheaper). D80 i dont think can buy brand new anymore since it was replaced by the D90 two years ago. if u can find a good condition used unit it'd be a good choice. however the D90 should be around rm4k.Added on January 18, 2010, 4:01 pm QUOTE(flashout @ Jan 18 2010, 03:28 PM) I m existing alpha user (Alpha 100).. buy it during it first introduce. And now.. i was thinking to convert, due to the video features. even the 500D can record 1080p video, it's only at 20fps. ur video wont be smooth. u'll need to shoot 720p to get smooth video, which makes it at the same level as the D5000 and D90Now, i m looking into Canon n Nikon. Was thinking on Canon T1i (500D), Nikon d90 and 5000d. Alot of ppl say Nikon d90 good, but price its bit high. Canon T1i got a good video setting, but the photo its not as good as Nikon 5000d (if use lower range lense, coz of the high megapixel; according to website review). Still garu my head.. any comments?
