There's nobody in reserve level right now good enough. All the good ones are around 16, and they're still in the academy haven't break through to the reserve yet.

We'll get him for free since he's out of club now. Wes being Wes, he'll break down now and then. Rio's back is a worry, and Evans was said to carry that ankle injury which needed surgery, but have been postponed for now. Gary is old, will pick up knocks here and there, and the twins are still growing so will get injured easily too. And we're left with only O'Shea, Vida and Evra who's dependable fitness wise.. plus De Laet. It wouldn't hurt to have a veteran defender around.

for me, its not the injured defenders that im concerned to fill with Campbel. In Manchester, someone as experienced, well-named striker like Michael Owen hardly starts for Manchester United. If he dont mind sitting on the bench and start maybe 1 out of 3 or 4 games, well, he is welcomed to Manchester. I doubt he can tahan sitting on the bench every week. Even scholes wants to play more now.

If Owen who is only 29 is happy having to fight it out with Berba and Rooney knowing both of them are far more talented than him right now, then Sol would be more than happy to just be part of this club, given his age. Players at that age don't look to be a first teamer anymore, especially at top clubs. They know they are past their best and would be happy enough to still be involve. He even said so himself he would jump at the chance. Of course the club have come out and deny the story linking him with us.

well, it's up to SAF whether he wants Sol in the club.
Though, it'll be nice to have him to piss Arsenal fans off to share his experience to the younger side.

I say snap him on a player/coach contract.

New deals for United duo

QUOTE
Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Manchester United are set to offer new contracts to Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

The veteran duo have become part of the furniture at Old Trafford over the years, having spent their entire careers to date with the Red Devils.

They are now set to be offered the opportunity to prolong their association with the club even further by penning fresh terms.

Giggs, the reigning PFA Player of the Year and latest member of the Premier League 100-goals club, will be rewarded for a number of performances which belie his years.

Scholes, who is also entering the twilight of his distinguished career, will also be awarded a new deal despite passing his 35th birthday.

Ferguson is convinced that the pair can still do a job at the highest level and is determined to tie them down for a further 12 months.

"Ryan will be offered a new contract for next season, which is an indication of what we think of him coming up to 37 next season, and Paul knows he will be offered one as well," Ferguson said.

Both Giggs and Scholes have seen their first-team opportunities limited of late in an effort to save their ageing legs for the games that matter most.

Ferguson, though, continues to be amazed by the level of performance they put in and believes they are capable of going on for some time yet.

Humility

"Ryan is an example to young people," said Ferguson.

"He has humility and he has never changed and I think he is having his best years now.

"He has retained that amazing quality in his game and also an enthusiasm to play."

He added: "I spoke to Paul and he said he didn't actually say he was thinking of his future.

"When you get to that age every player starts to think about what the future holds for him.

"But when you see Paul's performances at West Ham and in Wolfsburg last week there is no reason to think he can't do it again next year again.

"Maybe he thinks he should be playing every game. That's fine, but I know that's not fair.

"We want the quality. We want to see Scholes perform like he did on Tuesday and the best way of doing that is to gauge the games we know he is going to dominate."

Is RM20 worth it for the HD? I mean come on, HD is already a common thing in other countries but why they still need to charge us with that? We're always a few steps slower than other country.... SG already got 100MBps broadband and streaming HD live football happily sad.gif

With streamyx you are lucky to even get a "petak" for HD. laugh.gif

IMO, RM20 is definitely worth it since I believe most homes have the LCD/Plasma awaiting live WC matches in full HD biggrin.gif But Astro being Astro, you can never be assured of their service; and I also think they lack competition in the market (was O_O when TM bid for the BPL telecast rights, but would be happy.gif if Astro had lost the bid).

I hope the EPL telecast rights will stay with Astro forever. Or they can somehow collaborate with Telekom to use those fibre lines. I don't want to subscribe to two different provider just to enjoy watching stuff. Let's say TM wins the right in the future, we have to subscribe to Telekom to watch EPL games. While on the other hand those La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, CL games is still on Astro.. so we still keep paying Astro for the stuff.. not good for our pocket unless you are rich. On one hand we have the monopoly thing, high price, yada2... while on the other hand, it's easier to the end user to just have one option that have it all.
