The worst thing to hear is a consortium buying the club. It means transferring the club from one deep end to the other deep end. We were generally lucky to have an owner that doesn't meddle with team affairs at all.

I don't like the club being owned by more than 1 person. Just look at Liverpool. Expect to see some Dongs if the deal is sealed.

QUOTE(71ers @ Dec 14 2009, 03:04 PM) We were generally lucky to have an owner that doesn't meddle with team affairs at all. Yeap, apart from the debts which Glazers put onto the club, they actually did nothing wrong. Bring in a rich owner might wipe off the debt but as always, there will be something else that cause us the problems.

it wasn't really a bad weekend for us, cause lucky us, chelsea only managed a draw at home...
it's only a 3 point gap.... actually, the lost is a good wake up call for us, and it will make our player to be more ruthless in the front and at the back, and i believe that we will bounce back..
it's unlucky for wolves cause it happen to be our next opponent cause i believe we will run riot on them

i really hope when the chinese take over, they can bring in somemore Asians to the club. I know, its not a good thing for the manager to interfere with the management of the team but hope they can put pressure to Fergie with statements like "I'm going to re-place some of the scouts to Asia"
Then maybe we can see our Malaysia superstar in Manchester United
On the side note, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY OWEEENNN!!!! NO MORE 20'S FOR UUUU" NE NE NE PU PU.. JK JK.
Hope he can retire at Old Trafford.

QUOTE(scofield @ Dec 14 2009, 02:59 PM) If it would clear the debt which i doubt so, then YES..BUT..we might turn out to be like chelsea where the team selection and transfer are control by the owner..in another word, SAF lose his control of the team..its a BIG NO NO..i think David Gill and SAF knows this better.. and 1 more thing, let say saf and the new management not "ngam" how? are they gonna sack saf? will the 67k fans protest? yes , we are in debt but lotsa pro and cons there.... to sell or not to sell...

Regardless of whether there is indeed such interested buyer or how are they going to manage the club, the biggest worry is the how the Glazers are going to service the debt. I think in another few years or so, the repayment is due. Even if they can refinance it, the interest will be much much more. Unless we have a few more Ronaldos to sell, if not I don't think there is anyway to increase our profit to cover the debt. Eventually, the Glazers will have to sell, even at a loss.

MAN UTD NOT FOR SALE QUOTE MANCHESTER UNITED last night posted the “Not for Sale” sign at Old Trafford.
The American Glazer family, who own the Premier League champions, dismissed reports of a £1BILLION bid from a Bangkok-based Chinese consortium.
A spokesman for the Glazers said: “The club is not for sale. Simple as that.”
Rumours have spread that United are struggling to repay the £60m-a-year interest on their £700m debt.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson last week publicly denied suggestions he has no money to spend in the transfer market.
And, with the world still gripped by the financial crisis, speculation is rife that the Glazers need to sell. But the spokesman who pointed out that United were recently valued at £1.5bn, added: “The same newspaper printed the same story about three years ago.
“The situation is now as it was then: The club is not for sale.”
The report claims six Chinese billionaires have spent three months on the proposed deal and that they would be ready to take a part-share should the Glazers not want to give up control.
United crashed 1-0 at home to Aston Villa on Saturday with Gabi Agbonlahor’s header giving Villa their first win at Old Trafford since 1983. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/1...-not-for-sale-/

60m a year interest is a little heavy to carry. they survive a year with ronaldo's departure. Who are they going to sell this year?

The offer is not good enough? Take 700m out of the 1b offer, left 300m. Glazers spent if i'm not wrong, around 200m+ pounds of their own money when they bought the club. Factor in the value of GBP at the moment, maybe...just maybe they won't gain a lot from the deal.
Or to keep it simple, no such deal exists. It's all bullshit started by NOTW.

I believe one of the factor to the defeat to Villa is due to the fatigue suffered by players such as Fletcher, Carrick, Evra and Valencia. They have been playing non stop since last week and with Vidic and Brown just coming back from injury, our team is not 100% performing.
With Wolve coming at midweek, we seriously need those player to freshen up and go out to win 3 points. We can't capitalize on Ski draw, so the team must buck up and rip Wolve apart for 3 points, that is what champion should do.
And whats up with the buyout news? I don't want another ownership crisis back in OT..

More speculation that we're gonna be taken over by new owners? I'm still pissed that we sold ourselves to the Glazers. We're servicing our debt at an interest of about 14%+, which is unbelievable. God knows what will happen when we stop being so successful for a few seasons. Honestly we could go down the road of Leeds and massively feck up the club. I'm guessing there are ppl who are skeptical of investing in our club becoz once Fergie leaves, there's gonna be uncertainty over whether or not we can continue to be this good. I mean, who's capable of stepping into the shoes of the greatest manager ever?

It's good to see Liverpool fan leaved the stadium before the end of the game, we don't have anything to worry about others would say if our fan do the same thing.
