This is call "Intellectual Interaction"

BTW, just look up the Denon 1909 user manual, confirm can accept Multi-CH PCM.
So the problem should be the AVR setting or BDP setting

If you have set everything up correctly, the Denon display will light up as "MULTICH IN", indicating that you are receiving multichannel PCM. If you hit "Status" on the Denon, the display should say something like "PCM 48kHz 3/2/.1" indicating that you are receiving 5.1 channel PCM (3 fronts / 2 surrounds / .1 LFE track).

Thanks for the tip, yonggoh, this will help with the troubleshooting nod.gif

Ngto & Vince - Thanks for the feedback, confirm the AVR can multichannel PCM, now will go try fiddle the settings .... again! ... bye.gif

Just an update confirm AVR reading is PCM 2/0/0. Meaning its not the AVR, its the Player.

Anyone knows BD60 can do Multichannel PCM? If yes, whats the setting? My current's all 'Bitstream', secondary audio 'Off'.

i believe there is an option on the BD60 to Downmix to stereo. Try turning that off and see if that works

If you bitstream from your BD60 to your 1909, then it's the 1909 doing the decoding. How come it's stereo hmm.gif . What disc are you playing , btw?

Are your speaker setup in the AVR all correct? Or could you have set up your AVR to play through zone B or something? (Don't have Denon, so just wildly guessing biggrin.gif ). Better wait for Denon users.

I turn all to bitsream and make sure to turn the BD Video secondary audio to off. As indicated, if you turn this on, some BD disc will give :

1. DTS Master audio to DTS only
2. Dolby True HD become Dolby 5.1

I guess maybe just maybe..

3. Uncompress PCM 5.1 to Stereo PCM niah....

Someone IM me last time, why he still see DTS even though he selected DTS Master audio? Now I know the answer de. smile.gif

Thanks for your visual guides, just what I needed for the BD60 settings confirmation! Unfortunately, though my setting's the same as yours, but I am not getting the results as in yr 6003 sad.gif

hmm.. if my BD60's settings are correct (ala yours), then the issue's with the AVR then?

I guess I really need someone with a similiar BD60 and 1909 combo and replicate their settings doh.gif

Speaker setup should be correct, I am getting all 5.1 channels through other audio codes, except PCM. Yeah, guess have to see what other fellow 1909 users say ..

Lone*Wolf, just curious, are you selecting PCM from the Audio options on the disc itself?

ok, just hesitating, thinking that the installer sweated for a while before finishing configuring the AVR. Its a Denon after all .. sweat.gif

Still hoping for other 1909 users that can share their settings/shed some light here smile.gif

I remember reading about Denon 1909 audio setting. There is a function call Auto Surround mode. That feature has memory that will store the last setting u have for the type of input audio type. Check that if it can be reset or sumthing.

Or it could be a bug. check ur firmware.. tongue.gif

The Auto Surround mode is 'Off'.

AVR also got firmware updates?
