You set your BD60 to PCM for both True-HD and DTS-MA? What about your settings in Denon? Auto mode?

Don't own the Denon, but normally if you set the AVR to Auto and your BD60 to Bitstream or PCM you will still get full multichannel sound.
If you are getting stereo sound, maybe you are playing around with a mode that is only meant for stereo. |

QUOTE(Lone*Wolf @ Dec 1 2009, 11:05 PM) Yeah, I think thats the current setting, thats why I puzzled, AVR input indicates stereo ... Since it has the HD decoders built in it should also be able to do Multichannel LPCM.Mebbe I need to play around with the settings once more. Thanks anyway, Ngto BTW, Denon 1909 does support multichannel PCM, right? |

QUOTE(Vinceyang @ Dec 2 2009, 10:50 AM) As far as I know, mostly AVR will able to accept Multi-PCM regardless of HD Decoder. Do you know that what a HD decoder does is decode bitstreamed HD audio into LPCM? Whether it's the Player that does the decoding or the AVR that does the decoding in the end it all decodes into LPCM.So What does HD decoders relates to PCM?? If an AVR is advanced enough to have HD decoders built in, it is reasonable to also expect it to have the ability to accept LPCM as well , no? This is in reply to Lone*Wolf who was wondering whether his Denon 1909 could accept LPCM. Seems you are trying to make an issue out of nothing |

Yes , see how his feedback. Anyway still not totally clear what his settings are that result in 2.0 stereo.

QUOTE(Lone*Wolf @ Dec 2 2009, 02:36 PM) Just an update confirm AVR reading is PCM 2/0/0. Meaning its not the AVR, its the Player. If you bitstream from your BD60 to your 1909, then it's the 1909 doing the decoding. How come it's stereo Anyone knows BD60 can do Multichannel PCM? If yes, whats the setting? My current's all 'Bitstream', secondary audio 'Off'. Are your speaker setup in the AVR all correct? Or could you have set up your AVR to play through zone B or something? (Don't have Denon, so just wildly guessing Added on December 2, 2009, 8:46 pm QUOTE(yonggoh @ Dec 2 2009, 04:49 PM) i got the bd60 and it plays Linear PCM fine (from my black hawk down, justin timberlake BDs) Good one there Yonggoh lemme check my settings for you now... here u go sir can see from 3rd pic the little words "PCM" light up in my Marantz Sr6003 This post has been edited by Ngto: Dec 2 2009, 08:54 PM |

Lone*Wolf, just curious, are you selecting PCM from the Audio options on the disc itself?
