just installed new internal water filter brand sun sun, 8wt and affordable to 600L flow

but my 4 inch YT can't take the current, already packed it back rclxub.gif
*
u can slow the flow rate a bit by attaching a sponge to the intake of the pump....the lfs shud sell the black sponge ...just ask them to show you how to attach the sponge tongue.gif
if the sponge is too big, u'll just have to get a razor blade to trim it down haha

also you can reduce the flow by turning it sideways if possible and let it only blow from the ground...where the water circulation will be lesser on the top area of the tank where your aro prefers to stay around

however based on your tank size, i wud recommend to start getting a bigger one soon sweat.gif

there are a few ways to reduce the ph wan

almost instantaneous method wud be to use black water
(please be very careful here,....instant ph changes can cause ph shock to the aro [thats the reason i dun use it])

another method which is slower is to use peat moss, where you just put into the filter as the water goes through it will start to lower the ph slowly (but plz do check the instructions cuz i've never used it before lol)

but more curiously is why is your tank at ph 7.0 and your fgt 8.0
any differences in whats in the filter?
and also what is your tap water ph?

if you are using a ph pen or ph meter, plz do take note that there are 2 factors that can affect and give you false readings.

1) light turned on....somehow your tube lights will affect the ph lower than it really is in the tank

so its best to either take the water out in a cup and then use the ph meter/pen to do the reading or turn off all the lights in the tank to take the reading

2) temperature of the tank .....altho little / very slight, it does affect the readings a bit...but only a bit, but if the temperature difference is that of 2 worlds (ie: aquarium in room, and fgt is oustside in the sun) then yes the reading will be different due to the temperature.

Just bought a beta fish to replace my froggie

thanks and credits to Leggedy's idea which inspired me to try this...

so here's a video and proof of getting the aro to look up more icon_rolleyes.gif

Hope you enjoyed it tongue.gif

my conclusion is that the aro is more interested with the beta than the froggie cuz froggies just sit still and not move whereas the beta moves a bit laugh.gif

now here's the funny bit....i tried 1/2 submerging the container with the beta so its showing at the surface level of the tank water....
apparently the aro doesnt seem to be interested with it that way......
shortly i put it back hanging 1cm above water surface then the aro goes and stare up again more hmm.gif

@bensow

hehe tq biggrin.gif

the singer is Hayley Legg, search her up on yourtube tongue.gif
i love to listen to her ^^

@white palace
thx xD

you can also use crickets / worms / frogs haha whichever fancies your aro's interest tongue.gif

@jamestan

its directly opposite ajinamoto factory....
its opposite side of K-Link office building

If your comming from the petrol station which has McD with it...going down hill...meaning the mcD and petrol station is on your right, its towards the end just before the traffic light there is a turn right in....once u are turned in you just go to the end turn left then another turn right....and then towards the end u will see a turn right just before the exit to the highway...once u in there just keep going and you will see that ol' kuchai lama lfs xD

if you not confident, just gimme a pm, we'll arrange sometime to meet up at the common places like tmn desa medical center / pearl point or easier even if you know the petrol station at kuchai lama with mcD drive thru hehe

i go to this kuchai lama lfs often to buy my ghost shrimps xD
and yes...they are quite the ego
at least they got rid of the lansi indo shop assistant that they had and replaced with a nicer fresh indon lol
