I got my WhatsApp when it was still free. That time they said it doesn't work on Msia but then again it does back then
So far I personally think that it's way better than Ping and BBM. One is that it just searched based on the phonebook. If ping you need to ask first if anyone installed one and another is that what is the username. Kinda leceh. Sometimes you can't keep track of your phonebook on who have the iphone or not. BBM the leceh part is need to get the number. Maybe the possible drawback of Whatsapp is that sometimes you don't want to give your number to others but just want to give them your ID which Ping will make perfect sense. Then again what are the chances of every single one person have an Iphone with ping installed and with you not wanting to give your number to them? Unlikely... Added on January 26, 2010, 7:29 am QUOTE(eugenechiuu @ Jan 20 2010, 02:03 AM) Oh thx for the info! I think it was just released recently only is it? I've just checked it out, it's $2.99 for BB whatsapp.. was hoping I could text my BB frens but the BB version is quite pricey compared to the iPhone's >< It's another totally different apps? I assumed either BB whatsapp will work only for whatsapp and BBM and normal whatsapp only for whatsapp? I wished they just integrate both. Then I just need to upgrade this one Is ur fren from SG using the whatsapp smoothly without any issues? This post has been edited by viper-xs: Jan 26 2010, 07:29 AM |

Few days ago when tinkerbel told me about it, it was still on the Blackberry Appworld, now it's not available again.. They did stated u could text with iPhone's whatsapp....So far I personally think that it's way better than Ping and BBM. One is that it just searched based on the phonebook. So BB user need to have Whatsapp for BB? If they are offering it free maybe alot of BB user will download it to the benefit of growing iPhone Whatsapp fanbase. Quite a number of BB users are there for the BBM instead of normal "office" usage I think. |

QUOTE(viper-xs @ Jan 26 2010, 04:00 PM) @eugenechiuu Yea they need to buy that App in order to text with Iphone whatsapp users... Well in long term it's worthed for BB users who have a lot of frens using iPhone... Still, if the price is lower then it would attract more ppl to buy it...So BB user need to have Whatsapp for BB? So if your friend have your number it will check if that number is registered or not and they can text you instantly on Whatsapp. As long as you put in any different number but still yours should be fine. Otherwise it will create domino effect..haha. |

i don't really fancy this app to be honest.
very sleek and innovative design and concept, yes but because i use it very often, messages sometimes fail to load inside the app itself. meaning, i know that there is an incoming message from whatsapp because of the push capability. however, upon entering the app, the message simply fail to load (happened a couple of times already) as a result of that, i'm switching between ping and this one intermittently |

No idea on that but then again I'm using it only in Wifi spots here except when I'm in Malaysia. So far it's great since I bought 2 phones for me and my gf and occasionally chatted up with my colleagues. Can't gauge it pretty well unless I communicated alot with it.

So far it's great since I bought 2 phones for me and my gf and occasionally chatted up with my colleagues. Can't gauge it pretty well unless I communicated alot with it. i'm hardly home (except to catch some winks) and hence i rely heavily on the carrier network.in another word, i'm perpetually online. furthermore, i kinda like ping, because the incoming message tone "ping ping!" is very loud, distinctive and ability to diffract well. actually to be honest, you guys may or may not, know that whatsapp has an inbuilt stalking mechanism. you can always find out with ease, if a person has read your message and decides not to reply your whatsapp message because the app logs on, a user's last online time (ping or its nearest competitors do not possess such a feature) This post has been edited by nokia2003: Feb 1 2010, 05:39 AM |
