QUOTE(nujikabane @ Dec 7 2009, 04:09 PM) Just a question, If i subscribe to Home Plus, do i need to plug it to my LAN ? what modem you use? I mean, one PC must be connected (modem LAN port to PC LAN port), and only the others need not do so? no, you dont have to connect the LAN to the pc for the MODEM to connect to the server. if you have DV-300 ( wired only modem ) you NEED to connect the LAN port to the PC LAN port to get your COMPUTER to connect to the internet if you have DV230 (wired/wireless modem) you can only connect to the wireless access point that you modem created using your computer, you dont NEED to plug in the wire. if you want to have stable connection from your MODEM TO PC you can connect the wire. |

QUOTE(baliwesti @ Dec 16 2009, 10:36 AM) some tips to those suffering low speeds (maybe due to base station congestion, etc). i post your guide on the pinned thread, hope you dont mind1. Do not put your modem in front of a window with tint. seems to have an aversion to tinted windows, this modem. 2. Make a list of all the base stations in your area. take the modem on a field trip on different parts of your house, then login to the modem http://10.1.1.254 (admin/admin123) to take down the BS ID/Base station Id. Also take note of the location of the modem if you get a different BS ID. You can also use the coverage checking map to see which direction you may have to face the modem to. 3. Disable any QoS service in your router (my previous router, DIR-300 screwed my wimax connection when i turn on the QoS) 4. Do not limit your possible wimax modem location to "just facing out of a window", sometime facing a wall there can be signal also (like in my case facing the inside of the condo at times) 5. Once you have the list in #2, do some observation per base station. a. do a ping www.yahoo.com -t test, if it is normal you should be getting 200-400ms reply and only 1 "Request time out" every once in a while b. do a speedtest 6. Position is key. The modem signal can change if you even move it 1 degree or even just centimeters from where it is, or even just adding some height to the modem (like putting it on top of a book, etc) Hope this helps, this is what i normally do when i get low speed with P1. and btw, these are the base stations that I know that are suxx: 00:00:12:A0:01:63 - used to be good, but right now when i connect high ping 00:00:12:A0:05:72 - said to be under maintenance, also used to be good too, at the moment off peak is ok- come 9pm here comes the lag. these base stations are ok. 00:00:12:A0:00:52 - currently using this one, getting green signal too but modem is at the balcony (where our clothes are being hung to dry) 00:00:12:A0:00:41 - sometimes able to connect to this one, also good. |

i think DiGi still got good speed because the price of their subscription is kinda high... so not many middle class people will go for it. as for p1 their price is okok, so many people will subscribed it and thus the fast congestion.

QUOTE(KoNz3n @ Dec 21 2009, 01:52 AM) Hey guys, I changed my laptop 2months back to win7 64bit since my old laptop screwed up. And i'm using a wiggy. and I havent been using it for the last 2months since I can't go online. Hence, I haven't paid my bill as well. Should I just terminate it ? what are the procedures? The line was quite crappy even when it was useable so I really feel like terminating it.. there isnt any driver for 64 bit, i dont know if you can return it or not, try this, go to the p1 center, say that your area is congested, and you are using 64bit computer, and the wiggy driver can not be install with that computer. if the old lady/guy give crap like, it can be install maybe virus or sumthing, ask that person, go panggil someone with a computer knowledge. |
