Thanks guys!

By the way, since I could not find any information whether they have been locally bred or not, I will stay put to the claim i.e. to be the first to hatch them in Malaysia. But if anybody got any VALID info with proof and such to contradict my claim, then I will withdraw it out from TGS. So do let me know alright.

Frankly, I hate such claim to be the first to hatch this and that because it makes me sound more like a moron. But that's how things are nowadays.

Yesterday wheeleris
Soon levis
Then amyaes

If I succeed to keep, breed and hatch all three species (amyae especially), then the rest of the not-so-easy Nephrurus sp. will bombard Malaysia into my facility. I want them all smile.gif.

Regards

I speculate maybe those who have attempted doing that successfully before you did it aren't talking much about it thinking it wasn't anything big anyway.
Something like I keep a chicken in the backyard, the chicken laid an egg and the egg hatched into a chick. yawn.gif

or

It happened before but no one documented it, but you did.

or

maybe at that point of time, no one really paid much attention to geckos as much as we all do today.
Back then hobbyist and keepers are just a niche group. Today with internet This information is spreading like crazy.

when i was in primary school i used to catch that lizards that can climb trees, and run really fast.
It's color ranges from black, grey, to brown. It has claws instead of padded toes, and slim body with a tail very much longer than the rest of its body, the length is slightly below 12 inches.

I show it to my classmates some call it biawak, and some call it cicak gobeng.
Whatever but I manage to tame it, and can held it in my hand without having it struggling to run away.

But really years back hardly anyone ever sees a lizard as a pet, with some exceptions for the iguana.

It takes roughly a week plus of handling and feeding it with insects. i catch ants, crickets and sometimes young cockroaches to feed it.
Until a point i notice that little lizard in the plastic tank became a little lazy. Then i know it is on its way of being tamed, or maybe that lizard already get the idea of having food being hand feed to it, instead of having it to hunt for food. A lot of times the bugs i caught are already halfway dying because i hit it with newspaper before collecting them, which to the lizard is an easy prey.

It will bite sometimes, not as tame as leopard gecko yet, still manageable.

After about a month of keeping it I set it free again, because mom and my teacher keep on saying that it is not meant to be kept but belongs to the wild.

After all these years, I came to know about leopard gecko just about a month ago, I immediately bought one from mattemily. I have revived an interest i used to had since childhood, only difference is now with some money, I can take it to a bigger scale.

Good to know such speculations exist. I did state in my post that if anybody have any valid proof, I would take my claim down from my site.

You seem to know so much. Mind telling me how long have you been in the hobby again? Thanks

I may have kept our local lizards and biawak before, when I was young. I caught them by chance, some from my school field area, and some from the bushes near my previous house.

For leopard geckos I am just getting started.

I doubt that, do read up on Nephurus genus itself, and also the mating and hatching rate of them, you'd be surprised of what you'd see.
